Agree with Loopy, but will put it across much stronger. Total bunch of incompetent idiots, from the very highest level to the lowest.
@Craig, with all due respect, trying to address the symptom, and not the problem, has never worked.
As a service provider, that depends on punters money to survive, the least you can do is provide a punter with up to date info, from a single source.
I watched this particular race with my brother, and after the race is run, he tells me that was a chance ride for Stryker.
Punters are getting screwed big time.
I find roulette a much better game of chance.

@ Hibs.....here is perfect opportunity for ABC to provide regular updates on changes and traffic on the ABC Site will increase tenfold.
take away the punter from the tote.
I was surprised to the bets being taken on Wknd Special before the announcement was made. Somebody knew and got the lot....i feel that was an intentional coup.....
I agree with all of the guys sentiments and turnover is doomed....

Randal had 5 rides. Do you think he got off all of them just so Pierre could ride the one horse. Pierre was available so Paul put him on. Wouldn't you?:S8-)

That could be the case. But i do know of times when a jockey has been asked to get stood down and the top jockey takes the ride, after they have gotten decent bet on,and has gotten paid. As there doesnt seem to be a rule anymore where a jockey must be replaced by another of similar statistics. Not lower end of the log being replaced by champion rider. In jhb there has been a few jockey swop arounds recently.

You missing the point Craig...
Without punters Phumelela (& yourself) is without a job..
This consistent incompetence in neglecting the punter whether intentionally or purely out of an organization that is either completely incompetent or just don't give a fcuk would lead to the industry's downfall.
Tabonline is still showing Scottsville as GOOD going after everyone knows its abandoned...

LL, I am pointing out that if Randal did not have family commitments he would have ridden the horse and no hidden agendas this time. Tabgold.co.za and Sahorseracing.co.za both show the meeting is abandoned. I am sure they are still getting to tabonline.

Everytime a jockey doesnt ride,i go online and read the reason and compare with the next time stood down.If you go back and look ,majority of the time it is either flight complications or family comitments.those reasons work, not sure if the reason betting coup, would be exceptable

Wow, the punter should be ever so grateful............why on earth should they expect the accurate information timeously?
On Tabgold,at 9:30am the info was "rainfall last 7 days;nil............rainfall last 24 hrs :nil.
Is there any chance that was accurate?....................no!!!!!! so what excuse is acceptable?
Craig, you are within the industry and the network..................the punters who fund your industry do not enjoy that benefit..........I am stunned that you are unable to understand the difference..................good timeous communication(using the vehicles(websitse) designed for the purpose) would prevent you having to explain, after the event ,which has no value anyway!!!!!
My question: are you satisfied with the information disseminated to punters???

RF do you want them to go take the rain reading every 5mins during the storm and update Tabgold? Come on be reasonable. When the storm stops, take the reading and decide whether we race. Not 1 trainer with bigger vested interests in the day has complained and I am sure that the huge majority of punters are not worried if tabgold was updated at 10:20 or 10;30. What percentage of the total punter population was affected by the 20 or so mins difference in updating. Most had either done their studying or would do it closer to the race meeting. I would suggest that only a small % were doing it in that 20 min space.

And Strydom's ride...................that is where your network is the point....................should we just ignore that aspect!
I ask again............................do you think the punter should be satisfied with the lack of info about that Jockey change?

RF, the jockey was changed around 9:27 which is within the rules. Like for like is only after 09:30 I think. I gave out the website where the changes are instantaneous and got told that they were not interested in looking at it. What more can I do? May as well go and join Pirates/Titch. Less stress and don't have to read posts with people having a go at me.
