Two Oceans

Early start to the day moving athletes to the start. Maximum fields means traffic chaos. I dropped off at start at 04h45 and when leaving Newlands the M5 was just a stream of lights and so was the N1 all the way back to Bellville... those were all going to be late.
Our top athlete Abongile (the Begging Bowl beneficiary) sadly enough has picked up a bug ...one which had myself and my missus laid low this week.... but at this stage he is a starter but his race will be affected. Was hoping for a Top 10 Western Province athlete finish and a top 50 overall in the 56km run.
I always thought the Argus Cycle Tour was the biggest money spinner for Cape Town but this race has grown massively....

Lovely scenery makes for good TV, advert for the Cape ... these guarantee a media success. I wonder if any of it gets shown overseas?

Over 2000 international runners....so word of mouth already massive. Runners from 66 countries taking part. I am pretty sure there will be highlight packages shown.

Was training for Comrades and intended to run Two Oceans either this year or next...then I slipped on stair and picked up 3 hairline fractures on foot and out of action for 6 weeks...
Well, next year we try again...
