Having just got back from his double in Zim, Chip popped down to the Cape for a whirlwind visit. 2000km round trip for a couple of morning's work rides and a couple of meetings. As you do!
I must confess that while I enjoy watching good jocks do what they do best, I seldom give much consideration to how long it takes them to get to my local parade ring.
Some of our riders appear at several different centres in a single week. Whether by plane, train, or automobile, it was an eye opener to hear how much mileage our jocks clock up simply trying to get to work every day. Given the SA stats for road fatalities and the fact that we are all commemorating the anniversary of the Hennenman disaster today, it is worth taking a moment to appreciate and acknowledge how hard our riders work.
Thanks you guys !!

Have not met him,and know very little about him, but,
The little I've learnt of him on ABC,tells me he's a great guy
Passionate in whatever he does, and he goes an extra mile and a half for horse-care
Again,a real standup kind of guy(tu)
