@hibernia...there's a document I saw showing the split of turnover from racing and sports betting and racing is dominant source of income...not easily replaced by other income streams...

I expect it won't be too long before TT / P makes an announcement that 'due to demand from our customers', they are making the 'international decoder' available to home users - with the usual spin attached - probably going to a fixed cost for the decoder and a subscription service - nothing else makes sense - or am I giving them too much credit :S

what these people fail to realize is that it took over a decade to get punters to follow UK racing and they are going to turn those same punters away because they are trying to kill their competition. They need to find a balance and broadcast at least two UK meetings a day or they will lose vast amounts of turnover as home punters wait for the next local race instead of giving into temptation of having a Uk bet - Racing is no longer a purist sport and to approach it as such may be noble but does not make much business sense. Turnover used to be the motto of Phum but now it seems Revenge on the bookmaker has replaced it.
