This might be a good thread to pick the brains of the UK experts, such as Hibs, DTF and others, and ask my question about the UK flat courses.

Because there is so much UK flat racing, I restrict myself to playing only the Grade 1 courses, and some of the Grade 2s, based on the list that I found here.

Do you guys agree with this list? I see it was last updated in Jan 2012, so is it still relevant, or do you have a better source for a more current list? Also, why would Sandown, one of my favourite tracks, only get a Grade 2?

I would appreciate some expert opinion.

Sandown is very draw dependent over 1000m has some quirks and a stiff finish that sometimes throws up a dodgy result

What do you think of that list, Hibs, is it still current, in your opinion?

The list is only someones opinion imo, tracks like Catterick and thirsk,Bath etc with bad ratings can be quite good to punt at if you are good at reading races.. A bit like Durbanville and PE poly, they look tricky but if you can read a race they can be quite good to punt...

Then you have Doncaster and Newbury only graded a 2,when they are probably the best gallops in the country

Epsom would be a grade4 imo

the main thing is picking winners and if you take into consideration, whilst you select, the selections of Mr Hawaii, Gregbucks, Ouryperd and DTF then you should come out on top most days of the week

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I have been punting the Grade 1 tracks, and getting good, formful results, but neglecting the others, perhaps I need to throw my net wider. Hibs, I agree with you on Newbury, one of my favourite Grade 2 tracks. Dunno about Doncaster, though, the fields tend to be massive, with strange results more often than not.

Thing is, there is just so much UK flat racing, that you have to draw the line somewhere.
