Maybe they doing this to get people back into the Totes. I believe the UK races will be shown at Totes and the Race Courses according to the Notice on Tellytrack.

Couldn't agree more Thor. Poor Shaheen having to twiddle his thumbs and endure this agony. This is very disappointing of TT. I love the UK and international meetings just as much as the local meetings. All this reflects is poor management, lack of vision, scarcity, no abundance mentality, inability to think win/win solutions with broader stakeholders. TT seems to have made enemies with bookmakers, multichoice, GBI, and most importantly the punter. We are now sold a spin that TT is world class and evolving. No. This is a step back to the 1970s or 80s when international sanctions were imposed on SA. Just how much interviews and replays of local meetings can we stomach? Yuck. Shame on TT.

there is more chance of getting a ten-year-old into a dentist's chair - If your experience in a tote is poor why on earth would you want to make a night voyage into one especially as most close at 6pm , before the UK night races even start? Best they star showing runons for later meetings in the week to boost local turnover - I see planing and foresight is not part of the job description at Phum/Teletrack

No racing...no punting...no / reduced stakes for owners...no / reduced perks for execs...no / reduced dividends for shareholders...
Punters will just go elsewhere to get their fix...where are the owners going to go to subsidise the upkeep of their horses, where are execs going to go to get their perks (especially after this mess-up, their credibility to run a business must seriously be questioned - cutting their noses to spite their faces...) and where are shareholders going to get their dividends (especially since they have enjoyed the ride of late) ???
Seems very similar to the e-Tolls saga...who is going to crack first...with e-Tolls, the government will use taxpayers money to fund any shortfall...whose funds will P and GC and owners use to fund any shortfall??...Surely owners can see that pools are likely to decrease (as anything (read racing) that is out of sight is out of mind) and this will affect the stakes that they rely on to (partially/ largely) offset their outlays...not a whimper from them as they are embedded in the operators...holding directorships, owning shares, etc...
So...let it rain, let it rain, let it rain...
Me...I'm going to read a book, watch a movie and when soccer / rugby / tennis / basketball comes up, I'll have a bet...

I heard they are planning to build a serious of premium executive tote lounges. They must be hoping that, coupled with live UK racing, will attract the big players to them.

Perhaps somebody should point out that unless there is fixed odds betting , no big punter will be interested!

A few will probably have Bettingworld in same building, but you right - I doubt a lot of thought has gone into fixed odds.
