Have a few mixed feelings , firstly I am delighted with a dedicated local feed.
The loss of Sweden, Ngong etc is a massive positive but the loss of Cheltenham, Derby etc is a blow but there does appear alternatives to select the quality of your choice
So (tu)(tu)(td)

In my humble opinion, a lot of pish has been written on this thread; the principle of this move is to provide all with the opportunity to watch what they want - but I feel for the okes who want to keep watching overseas racing - they should have been given the opportunity to be able to buy / subscribe to whatever means, before the coverage is stopped.
As for affecting stakes, I'm not so sure that it would have an affect - the local pools on trot racing and run of the mill UK meetings (Southwell, Lingfield, etc) are small - and I suspect that some of the money wagered on those, would find it's way back to the pools of local racing
So again, good idea, but not perfect execution

its a perfect example of the operator telling a portion of there market to suck a toffee, but as you say frodo it will be interesting to see if this has a positive on the local pools or in the long run the operator will regret it....

at least a 30% reduction in UK pools I reckon !! What % of punters have access or the wherewithal to activate streaming audio etc. ? Most will just move on mark it absent.
I really enjoy UK racing as the form holds up a helluva lot better than our local stuff.... but only punt it when in front of a tv...

As someone said above there are plenty streams available for overseas racing so no problem. I for one will be happy if the adverse effect is more entertaining programs to take the place. Replays interviews etc need to be specific times and like with rest of dstv be able to be programmed so it can be pvr'd. Then more shows like the goods winning ways. So before we jump to any conclusions let's see what they have planned to take the place of the overseas racing.
I didn't choose the #puntlife, the #puntlife chose me!

This is good news and something many of us have been calling for. The punters who need to have more racing in a short space of time upon which to bet may be upset. Perhaps , playing a wider range of exotics per race might suffice, I don't know.
But , for sure is the fact that TT now have the ball in hand and can now use the opportunity to share a lot more info and footage from the courses as well as local documentaries and shows which will promote horse racing. But, as in the game of Rugby, they will have to use it or lose it....
Lets hope they use it.

I have two questions
1 Will the Phumelela GBI Web streaming still be available online from Monday?
2 Will I still be able to place bets online on GBI racing ?

Will the Jackpot Quickmix cease to exist or will all 4 legs be shown on Tellytrack?
If the latter is not done, they might as well scrap the JQM as of Monday.

so you don't enjoy Royal Ascot or the Derby or any of the other big race meetings in UK. Oh yes I forgot you are from Oz and the Ozzies don't like the English. Forgive me.
