I assume the difference in price would be because the Durban View is the only restaurant close to the finish line, or would the food be different? Can you Greyville regulars inform us Vaalies - thanks (tu)

Durban View always sells out, i`m sure they have to use a ballot system

THE food is good on the day, the normal racecourse fair but the main advantage is being in an airconed environment with a full glass wall which allows you to get a great view of the finish. Been a few times, enjoyed myself.....you also have a dedicated waiter so the drinks dont slow down

So in your opinion it is worth the extra R1000 as compared to the other 2 venues - but then one is not guaranteed a table - when do they draw the 'ballot'?

Bumpity bump. I wrote to Gail today seeking clarity on the Durban View restaraunt ballot allocations. At this stage I have it at 10 persons...neigh and other half, I and otherest half and Oscar plus 5 (other 20%'s ?????) .....

The VDJ is a great experience even if you're just walking and turning in the public areas ...the atmosphere is truly unbeleiveable...and the people are just fantastic...so take it all in and enjoy.....
