P6 DREAM BET

Moodley and Blondie come on Teletrack and tell us that while soccer has the Soccer 13 where one can actually win a sum of R10 000 000 racing does not have a similar product.

The solution says Blondie is to do away with couplings in the Pick Six so racing to can have that 'Dream Bet.' I thought this was a great idea. I remember as a teenager running off to the tote for my grandfather when we had a single carryover as he reckoned that any pool where one could beat the 25% takeout was worth betting into.

So now Moodley and Blondie have taken the decision to scrap the 'Dream Bet' concept by adding anything from 200k to 500k to the pool for that given day.
The fact that they take money carried forward from one centre to the pool of another is worthy of debate but for now I would still like an explanation as to why the promised product is not being delivered. Week after week my money bet into the Port Elizabeth Pick Six is carried over and I have no say as to where it ends up.

I did some basic maths and worked out that a normal Pick 6 pool carried over on two consecutive Saturdays would give me the opportunity of winning close on R10 000 000 on the 3rd Saturday. Now everyone has a bitch and a moan about the new Pick 6 rules and why the will or won't play 'the new game' but I would be pretty certain that everyone who has any interest in racing would play into the 'Mega Pool." Do me a favour Vee and Blondie, don't bullshit us about a 'Mega Pool' when you add a paltry 500k to the pot. These days a bookmaker will lay you R1,5 million of a soccer multiple. Have you guys not heard of inflation ? Winning R1 million is not to be scoffed at but it's not a 'get rich' sum of money.

So while your pools are 'rocketing' and you continue to blow smoke in the wrong directions it would be great if you could deliver on the original promises you made or am I just dreaming ?

Valid point Harris. Seems the power to carry over to which centre and how much lies at their discretion, and without democracy or as per the promised 'mega pool'.

PE would be a stunning pick 6 attraction if the pools remained carried over in full.

Have the pools actually increased with these carry overs if one takes out the carry over amount?

All I know is they have saved me a packet - I stopped playing the P6 when the rules changed (it used to be the only bet I took every Saturday and Sunday +/- R 500,00 per venue)

All I can say is thanks to Vee and Blondie!!!

The two of them, if left too their own devices will be the final nail is SA racing. Betting pools will plummet and along with that Stakes.

Casino and sports bet operators must have them on top of there Christmas gift lists.

Well. well well. Another "score" for Vee and the boys.
Dream P6 seems to be 6 fields(unless you in the know and can cut down in certain fields)

Sly,I din't think that ,in the short run at least, you are right................punters, as a generalisation are much more driven by greed than sense!
Greed is the main reason for that "5%" stat ,IMO !

Was astounded to hear on TT that they want to start the P6 pool for the Queens plate with 5 mil. Ironic that we start the first meet with a c/o. Call me cynical but I don't believe in coincidences. Watch for some astounding results this week. Another 4 more c/o this week will cover the 5mil. required for the 11th.

So basically your theory is: in order to have 5 million for the P6 pool on Queens plate day, that "they" are arranging that carry overs will happen in the 3 weeks or so before the 11th Jan??

I'm not participating anymore where shit like this is tolerated. There was a time when the every other poster actually knew enough so that the would be some balance with these nut jobs. Unfortunately it looks like the nut jobs are finally in the majority.

I am in favour of moderated anonymous posts because it has been found world wide that at least that anonymity gives people the chance to refer to a truth while being shielded from tyranny, so it is a form of free speech. The cost is there will always be nut jobs who could lie, embellish or just be idiots.
