Who's The Tote Favourite;Just For Cecil

1.28. TOTE FAVOURITE: Is the individual horse on which the most number of win units has been taken. Should two or more horses have exactly the same number of units wagered on them, Joint Favourites shall be declared.

Seeing as Cecil has been working for Tellytrack for about 10 years maybe it's time for him to learn the rules.The public would prefer correct information if you please.

It has nothing to do with places Cecil.

now I am confused.
I have seen many a time where place payouts had been taken into consideration when the win payout was the same.

Place payouts don't have anything to do with the TF.Due to the fact that PGE shave the cents off the tote horses obviously sometimes show as joint favorites,but there is almost always a different number of actual tickets on one of the horses,and that is the tote favorite.

JAP you are correct.
In case of joint tote favourites the horse with the most wagered or bets placed on it becomes the tote favourite.
In the past the place dividend seperated JTF but it's no longer the case. In fact the rule changed +/- 8 years ago.
