yes but as The Good points out he was bust for voltarin so banning can not be the rule of thumb - but surely testosterone is very serious unless that horse is also of ambiguous gender

Fillies had very low levels of testosterone. "If you see testosterone in a filly, it's highly suggestive of testosterone administration," said Moeller. - See more at: www.thehorse.com/articles/25094/normal-s...sthash.Ab56brqm.dpuf

There was a court case about 6 years ago where a prominent owner and a bookmaker took the NHRA to court because the owner backed his horse in Gauteng to win about 2 million. They ran second and the winner was then disqualified and the owner tried to claim back his stake and the bookmaker apparently joined the owner in trying to sue the trainer of the disqualified horse.Does anyone know of this case as i believe it came to nothing???

Testosterone is produced as a side effect from certain anabolic steroids......like stanozolol .....trainers may use these products as long as they and excess testosterone are not found on race day......

I think its a step in the right direction of "name and shame" rather than sweeping it under the carpet.

?.....a total ban on hormone altering and manipulation through performance enhancing muscle building steroids........that would ensure no grey area in the NHRA locally sanctioned current usage of steroids...:S.
