Strange that Blazing Sunset is due to run tomorrow and Saturday, I wonder if it will run tomorrow?

You guys are confident...

But, yeah, he is doing very well. Has a perfect draw, great jockey, better weights than last time and that last 400m was in a record time last time out. Should be a beautiful day!

I would run him tomorrow - he has no chance in that field on Saturday imo.

Some cracking races - the Graham Beck stands out for me - yes Heart of a Lion has shown his class, and Striker sticks with him - however he has to give weight to a few lightly raced potential stars like Bouclette Top, Whistle Stop (unfortunately drawn wide again), Weekend Temper and Shadowofhissmile - this is some field imo

The Ready to Run field does not look in the same league (apart from Umgiyo who is drawn very wide) - the filly Winter Star is weighted to win this - what price will she be ?

In the Starling Stakes, the likely top contenders have all drawn wide, making this a bit of a minefield imo - maybe Jenny Green coul take advantage?

The Charity Mile looks a genuine handicap - where the obvious ones like Wyllie Hall and Cherry on the Top could be tested by the less exposed Yorker and Glorious Jet who looks to be really well weighted here - where's the betting ?

Can't wait - let's hope the weather plays ball(tu)

I make Killua Castle a beeg runner, esp with the light weight. Has run absolute crackers over course and distancee and has recently hit top form(be it on sand).. 2.25l behind the hangman dingaans. 0.55L behing Telina. Level weights, now receives 3kgs(as well as draw 1 to Ts. Draw 14 ) ran 4,5l to Yorker over CnD giving Yorker 2kgs, now receievs 2.5kgs so dts basically level the playing fields between these two. Yorker hasn't run since KZN season, Killua fin the Sand season with 2 solid wins and seems2 be in great form. Tellina 12/1 yorker 5/1 Killua 20/1... I know where I will take my chances. Infact I make him the best of the Woody runners and think Fourie is on the right one, Not Marcus(even though I know Marcus obligated to ride for Jooste)

I think you're on to something there - this is a real handicap and many of the bigger priced runners look good value; certainly imo there should not be such a difference in price between Yorker and KC; also War Horse and Glorious Jet look tempting at current odds - imo at the weights CotT should not be favorite (sentiment and the Striker factor?) while Yorker also looks no value at 11/2 (probably the Marcus factor)

I will be at the track Sat and look forward to a days racing
Always find it hectic to concentrate and socialize on big days apart from the socializing part

So have made the following notes and hope our experts can help?

Race 1 between the Pieman and One Mans Dream also a bit worried about the first timer?
Race 2 no bet
Race 3 no bet
Race 4 chekilli can win again and possible banker for exotics ( all or nothing) ?
Race 5 no bet
Race 6 a strong ew on Strydom with Judicial
Race 7 no bet but would love striker to win for Mrs O plus Wylie Hall to win for a great charity
Dead heat
Race 8 virgoes babe with Strydom and Jenny Green 25/1 have to follow this one
Race 9 my best bet and again Strydom on Heart of a Lion
Race 10 should go to Strydom on Sharp designer
Race 11 and 12 back to drinking

Good punting

Have also penciled 3 in for Scottsville
The favs in race 3/6/7
Weather permitting

Not sure how much help this will be, but I also fancy the double :-

Chekilli X Heart Of A Lion (9/1)

Here's to hoping.

On the lighter side, you're not one of the Marx brothers are you?
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Early thoughts from my side:

R1: I'd stay out and have a drink to settle the nerves

R2: Maybe a small bet on What a Boytjie - Laird stable can't miss at the moment, so probably not the worst 'opening salvo'

R3: Tresco looks nice value imo

R4: Agree on Chekilli - Negev probably the main danger if not finding this too short

R5: Time for a drink again

R6: Fillies have a good record in this race, so I'm thinking Winter Star, Arcetri Pink and perhaps Arctic Route for some value

R7: Plenty of value down the boards imo

R8: Looks very confusing with the top contenders all drawn wide - another drink to clear the mind perhaps

R9: Race of the day for me; Heart of a Lion obvious contender, but don't ignore Whistle Stop, Bouclette Top and Shadow ofhis Smile

R10: Sharp Design the obvious one, I think De Var Hyt (much better off at the weights) could be right there after messing up the start last time

R11: Counter Ridge the right one at the weights, but the jock means I would rather have an after dinner drink

R12: By now I could be broke, and probably just as well - nothing to get excited about imo
