Jockey Championship

Hi all,

Was just wondering how the current state of affais look as at the end of last month. So hopefully someone could post the stats thus far. Also, does anyone know of where we can have a bet on the jockey championship right now if you have a fancy?

Should be tight with Strydom, Marcus, Yeni, Fourie, Khumalo and the likes.........

Thanks

Why do you guys think a jock like Kevin Shea ,whom I rate, doesnt featuring to highly on this list ? I realise he is not going for the championship but he doesnt seem to be near the top !

IMO the % winners to mounts gives a truer assessment of ability

As long as you take odds into account. If you are riding 1/1 shots in every race you should have a 50% success rate compared to a jockey who rides 20/1 shots and has a 5% success rate. I like the R1 win formula Computaform have as you can see which jockeys rode better than the odds of horses they were on. This can also have its problems as Marcus and Strydom's mounts are usually shorter than if anyone else was riding them.
