Herewith the result. In an earlier thread I referred to a horse trained by Brian Cunningham that had won by the proverbial mile - it was the race prior to the hurdle race and the horse was Hopeful Venture - won by 22 lengths over 1200m. The result of the hurdle race is below the pics - a dead heat!!!

Gee guys, I have had a blast from the past here, and it was a horse that seems not to have run at all. That is Tugela, No 10 in the Hurdle race, listed as trained by Mrs C Pendock and ridden by R Pendock.
I wonder if this was the same Mrs Pendock that ran a riding stable in Chase Valley, Pmburg? I never knew her first name or her children's names, but I used to go to her place as religiously as to church, every week for four years, for riding lessons when I was a kid.
Please someone say Yes! And I'm dying to know some details about her and her horses, and what happened to her. I know Chase Valley is all built up nowadays. I also know she stood some stallion at the riding school in the middle 70's ... I saw the beast but can't remember its name. Impressive animal in a scarey sort of way.

Could be Bev Pendock? She's a dressage rider today. Must be close to 60 years old.
She's together with Max McConnell who races with Lafferty and Eudey I think.
Hope I got those details kind of right

Remember some of the coups with Cunningham training for Ronnie "Hammer"?........one day at Pmb they won the first 2 races and the bookies had to borrow cash from the tote to pay!

Now you mention it Bev Pendock was the name of the daughter. I had completely forgotten. I wonder if her mother is still alive ... a tiny little woman with one withered arm where a horse once bit her on the elbow. And what happened to the riding school ...
I'm not surprised if you say Bev is a dressage rider. Her mother was a marvel with training horses. I once rode her thoroughbred mare Queenie (Celtic Queen) and it was a wonder to a raw schoolgirl used to rough ponies what a properly trained horse felt like in the hand.
If you ever hear anything more, Sugahorse, please pm me. I really want to know.
