Bingo R1 - R4 Jottings if anyone wants to refer
11 years 10 months ago
Have put this here so can be ignored or used as individuals wish without "clogging" up the daily thread.
Think all 4 of these races are fairly tricky and open. Not done selections. As always please feel free to add any comments, disagree etc which may help me in return and others but maybe best these are put on the daily thread rather than here (tu)
RACE 1
1 TEMPERED STEEL - Visser/AA. Top 3 both c starts (1000 and 1200). Beat 3 rivals last time out and two winners from the race, was only caught last stride. Good draw. Distance something of a concern but definite chance if stays.
2 WATERLOO BAY - Shams. 2.7l behind TS over 1200 when 1 box, today 12/12. Was finishing well after a slow start. Beaten fav in last 5 starts. 4/6 top 3 c and 2nd both c/d runs. Has been costly to follow and seemingly not stable elect but probably a better chance this distance.
3 MOUNTAIN RUSH - Shams/GW. Beaten fav in last 2 starts. Top 3 all 3 c runs, bronze over c/d.
4 OLD DEUTERONOMY - Visser. Well beaten on sand debut.
5 CALL FOR CHANGE - 3/6 for c top 3 but all over 1000, unplaced in 2 c runs over 1200 and well beaten only run over 1400 (turf). Has the 1 box.
6 THE DELEGATOR - Course debut. Very short in the market for me with no strong indicator that he will definitely take to the surface. Pass and watch.
7 ELLIPSIS - Miller/MVR. 6.2l behind TS and 3.5l behind WB on c debut. Was off a 9 week break. better drawn here and is seemingly stable elect but no market support last time, chance if improving but nothing to say he definitely will.
8 THE GREAT CARUSO - Rugg/Brown. 4/11 top 3 c and 2/5 c/d. 4.25l behind MR last time. Drawn 10. Hard to see form reversal.
9 RAMIRO - Rugg. Well beaten all 3 runs (1000), 27 week rest. Step up in distance but nothing to imply will improve. Seemingly not stable elect.
10 MARIA`S BOY - Well beaten both c runs. 3rd run after rest but nothing to suggest improvement likely.
11 BEACH BAR - Miller. 2/3 top 3 c, both places over 1000 and well beaten over 1200 when drawn widest of all, market support that day, better draw here, gets 3kgs off but distance a concern and seemingly not stable elect.
12 SILKEN SEA - 3/11 top 3 c and was perhaps a little unlucky last time out over 1800 in a very poor race. Chambers up but wide draw and poor overall form.
RACE 2
1 MAPOGGO - fought hard and stayed on for bronze on c debut (1200), was coming off 15 week rest so likely to come on for the run, found market support. Trainer inform.
2 DIAMOND STRIKE - Rugg/Brown. Shown little in 2 c runs and comes off 30 week rest. Hard to envisage a challenge but interesting that Brown is on this one.
3 KING KALLIS - 1 silver in 5 c runs but that was over c/d last time out under this appie when 3rd run after a rest. Chance if repeats.
4 EXTREME DREAM - Rugg. 2.25l behind KK last time out, one silver in 6 runs and 0/4 for top 3 c/d, 0/9 for top 3 d. No reason to believe there will be a form reversal. Seemingly not stable elect.
5 THE MATADOR - Rugg/Chambers. Seemingly not stable elect and well beaten all starts, not been within 6l of the winner in 5 runs.
6 SHEIKITUP - C debut over 1800 and well beaten, huge drop in trip. Trainer inform and decent appie up. 0/6 top 3 d (turf). Strange distance entries but little to recommend.
7 SPANISH SURPRISE - Rugg/Fradd. Seemingly not stable elect and well beaten all starts, not been within 9l of the winner in 3 c runs.
8 ROCKET LAUNCH - Miller/MVR. C debut. Chance on breeding of liking the surface, possible big improver from very poor turf form.
9 BROTHER SUBLIME - Shams. Debut. No pointers this one will definitely be surface-suited. Seemingly not stable elect.
10 ECO FIRE - Debut. Jockey's only ride but nothing to indicate this one will fly.
11 NOMENCLATURE - Shams/GW. Decent 2nd on c/d debut last time though not the strongest field. Good chance if repeats but up against the boys here.
12 SAINT ACTAVIUS - 5l behind Nomenclature last time when finding a little market support. Blinkers back off but was 2.75l when behind KK without blinkers. Hard to see form reversals.
13 TATSUMAKI - 8.5l behind Nomenclature last time on debut. Hard to see a form reversal.
RACE 3
1 DESERT BREEZE - C debut. Inform trainer. 14 week rest. Big drop in trip but has 1 win and 2 places in 5 d runs (turf). Drawn very wide. Likely to use as a "need it" run.
2 SECRET FLAG - 1-1-1 in 13 c runs and 1-1-0 in 7 at c/d. Well drawn. 23 week rest. Last 2 poor but was 1.75l 3rd of 10 at 20/1 coming off a 42 week previously with this jockey aboard, runner-up won next two. Possible idiot if drifts from 16s.
3 TAKAAMUL - C debut. Sire Muhtafal. 2nd, 3rd and 4th in 3 d runs at Vaal Sand. Inform trainer and jockey. Drawn wide but big chance if overcoming.
5 ELMSWOOD - C debut. Breeding suggests good chance will take to the surface. Drops in trip and 0/3 top 3 d (turf). Drawn 13. Possible chance but not interested at 14s from that draw.
6 WITH PASSION - Shams/GW. 2 wins in 7/13 top 3 c runs, 1-1-1 in 7 c/d. Decent win last time out over c/d after 15 weeks off. Good chance of coming on from that, runs from 1 box and should be up there again. Only slight reservation is perhaps horse seems to have run a little better under Greyling.
7 TO BE HAPPY - Flew home to win maiden over c/d in penultimate run. That and a third only top 3's in 6 over c/d and no improvement in 5 other c runs. last time out over 400 more. Tricky draw in 9 but outside chance.
8 WHISTLE FOR GOLD - Visser/AA, Facile maiden winner on c debut. Watch for Extreme Dream run in the previous race, was 8.25l second to WFG. Coming out the maidens but decent draw and decent winning time. Chance.
9 BECKETTS PARK - Visser. Won maiden but only top 3 in 4 c runs. Was staying on last time when behind Chiovanni (BP 1.5kg better off for 1.25l) but usually weakens and distance a concern.
10 CHIOVANNI - Rugg/Brown. 1-0-1 in 6 c runs with the bronze being his only run over c/d. Has been heavily supported from big prices last two outings but, though signs of a form return, he is drawn very wide here and that might make it too difficult.
11 BABY TJOKLITS - Shams. Has 6/10 top 3 on c and is 1-0-1 on c/d. Won maiden penultimate start but well beaten next time out. Think others look stronger.
12 SUNNE IN SPLENDOR - Visser. Two thirds in 3 c runs, appie takes a little weight off but unplaced in 7 d runs and has a wide draw, unlikely.
13 NEVER FAINT - A 2nd and 3rd in 8 c/d runs, appie takes weight off but well beaten in recent starts and must go down as a shock if returning to form to win this.
14 DEFEND THE DEVIL - won maiden but that is only top 3 in 7 c runs. Better draw this time but still would be a surprise if he wins.
15 DREAMWALKER - Shams. In as a reserve but unplaced in 4 c runs and 6 d runs. Another with a decent draw but in current form hard to see her winning.
Reserve
16 AND COUNTING - Shams. Unplaced in 2 c runs and 3 d runs. 15 week rest, wide draw, should not win.
RACE 4
1 RUNWAY JET - Miller/MVR. Sand debut. 3rd run after the rest. Nothing to indicate that she will take to the surface but chance if doing so from a good draw.
2 BLACK MARBLE - Sand debut. Trainer inform. Decent appie taking a little off. Nothing to indicate that she will take to the surface but chance if doing so from a good draw.
3 SET THE SCENE - Second on both course runs (1600 and 1400) under this appie who again takes 4kgs over. Had 5 rivals behind when 2nd over 1400 last time out. High draw. Seems to have a decent chance if overcoming the draw but drop in trip something of a concern with 0/7 places at the d, including a run on the Vaal sand.
4 ALWAYS CAMILLE - Rugg/Brown. 3/4 for top 3 on c and 0-1-1 over c/d. Was 4.45l behind STS over 1400 last time out but did stumble that day and may be the better suited to the drop in trip. Form of 1200 runs though has not amounted to much and drawn high.
5 RESERVED LADY - One bronze in 8 c runs and on only attempt at the distance was 4.25l behind AC on the run behind F d'Or. High draw and hard to see form reversal.
6 DADDY`S LUCK - Well beaten all 4 c runs and overall 1 bronze in 8 d runs. Much further behind in the FdO race. Ok draw and appie takes 4 off but should be an enquiry if winning!
7 UNRELATED - Shams. Wide on c debut over c/d and reported not striding last time out. On first look little to recommend but excuses in those two and breeding suggests possibly capable of better. Possible small idiot from a good draw.
8 LIVE A LEGACY - Well beaten all three runs and despite the 2 draw there should be an enquiry if winning!
9 THEORY - Sand debut. Trainer inform. AA up taking a little off. 67 weeks off following 2 poor turf runs. Highly unlikely but R1 possibly worth it from the 1 box if the price allows.
10 VICTORIA`S VEIL - Shams/GW. Poor course debut over 1000 and high draw here. Nothing to suggest she will improve another here to bother the judge.
11 SIOUX SHE - Spies/Chambers. Well beaten on c debut but still ran 3/10. The blinkers go back on and she could improve here despite not having the best of draws.
12 DUCHESS CATHERINE - 3/6 top 3 on c and a bronze over c/d. Was 3.25 ahead of SS last run but perhaps less scope for improvement.
13 PRINCESS CHICHIBU - Miller. 7.95l behind STS on c debut over 1400. Drops in trip but would be a surprise if there was a form reversal.
14 ANGEL`S MYSTERY - Rugg. 20+l behind STS over 1400 followed a 6l 3rd over c/d. Drops in trip again but would be a surprise if there was a form reversal.
Reserve
15 PRIVATE BENJAMIN - Rugg. Sand debut but seemingly little to recommend.
