R1
couple of weeks ago, trainer commented on TT that Hidden Gun runs with Jimmi Choo back at home, hard to follow on current form but if he brings that to the races today he could be a runner...having a small nibble at 50/1

Hi all
My summary for 2 day...enjoy
Race 1 fighting forge made good improvement and has fradd again , will go very close. If gem’s a plenty takes to the sand then it will be race over at the 800m mark...others to consider are red john , battle of alma , selezar , global talk and mr. Alfonso.
Race 2 lady Julia stands out in an extremely weak field...Pintari and tresco to follow her home
Race 3 what a poor field to open the P6....only the bold will survive...bar the couplings , field 4 me
Race 4 another weak contest so Cohiba looks well in here and can follow up on a good win last time ,gold prospector and jetsons for the minor placings
Race 5 love vivien is a possible exotics banker but i would not rule out the chances of weekend special , velvet jar and twilight eva
Race 6 this race according to the form looks set between hunter valley and rashaad but at the weights i will banker rashaad in all
Race 7 aces high to make a bold showing here with possible dangers coming from king scott and chedwin park and my other outsider, terrible gulch
Race 8 such another weak contest...banker sir Swarovski or go large ...you decide
In summary it is a very tough card and the exotics are bound to pay if the favs go missing...enjoy buddies.

Some thoughts - the usual mix of some competitve and a few less competitive races imo:
R1: Tough opener - if I had to take a stab I would go for Global Talk who is lightly raced and improving - but then the same could be said for Mr Alfonso - outside draws down the straight have been an advantage in recent weeks, so if Gems a Plenty takes to the sand, he could also be right there - lots of others looking for place money from inside/middle draws including Handsome Dancer (value?), Salute the Sun, Selazar and Fighting Force
R2: Olympic Spring won in a common canter in her pinultimate start, and her last run too bad to be true imo, so looks fair value at 9/2; Lady Julia is better than a 71 imo, but needs to prove she gets the trip - if she gets the trip she could give OS a run for her money; 3rd choice for me is Aloha Bay, who is held by Os imo, but could get closer with Fradd in the irons.
R3: Royal Taska looks the right one to me - should improve on a fair first run on the sand from a wide draw, not too much to beat imo and again fair value at 5/1; both Calypso Girl and Woodrose were still juveniles yesterday and their ratings need to be taken on trust - on the other hand they could be better than rated and Woodrose having placed on the surface is an obvious inclusion in the PA for me with Cerise Silk who has placed 6 times out of 6 runs over this trip (wide draw makes it tough to win though imo)
R4: Gold Prospector is another who is rated off a maiden win as a juvenile, but that rating looks fine to me, so must have a chance here - however he may find it tough to give Jetsons 3.5 kgs and J is also drawn on the outside fence; these 2 stand out imo, but a roughie to include in trifectas and quartets imo is Kwaaiwater - MR steadily coming down and should not be too faar behind J at these weights.
R5: I have Love Vivien running to a 93 last time, so very hard to beat imo - only slight worry is that she may be looking for more ground as she gets older (made her debut over 1400) - I'm backing her up with Sing the Blues (both wins have been over 1200 and pole position) in the PA in case the wheels come off
R6: Very competitve handicap imo where 7 of the 8 runners (Zebulon the exception) look to have winning chances - Silver Specialist has his regular jock back and has dropped back to a 74 (he last won off a 77) and looks very good each value imo - break a leg Elvis (tu)
R7: Another competitive handicap, Giro Jet very one paced, but just keeps plugging away, so should be thereabouts again; Ligeti won well last time, but has gone up an effective 12 points (no allowance this time), so could find it hard to repeat, White Squall prefers shorter imo, but has a place chance as well, while any of the Erasmus runners can also pop up and Terrible Gulch has found some betting support on his first try on the surface - load up
R8: The desperate stakes - Sir Swarowski holds most of these on African Flame form and looks hard to oppose due to the 'quality' of the opposition - he is drawn wide, but so is what looks to be two of his main competitors Hobbs's Flight and Sengwa - so SS or anything imo
Enjoy (tu)

I strongly fancy Mr Alfonso in the first at vaal today as i am basing it on its last run as i had a good bet on the well backed cachasa that day over 1200m. I see HOUDALAKIS sends Mr Alfonso to race over the 1000m trip today which i think should be spot on as he set the pace last time out and got beaten by just 0.50 lengths if he reproduces that run he should be cherry ripe to last over todays trip and the bonus is a 4kg claimer aboard in the form of MALEKING.
Mr Alfonso is a good value bet at 4/1 to start off the new season for the current favorite to come home and please the punters.. only to put a hole in their pockets for the remainder of the card.

Never know what you gonna get from Zebulon, on his day would be hard to beat but it can be said for many other runners, has run to some good sorts such as Pylon over course and distance where he was 3 lengths behind and if Pylon were running here well not sure what his price would be. Zebulon presents the best place value IMO.
Race 1 : Mr Alfonso will take much beating 3rd run after a rest but has been looking a little over weight his last two starts
Race 4 : Gold Prospector Win (Mr Alfonso finished behind this one)
Race 5 : Weekend Special for the stable double, Love Vivien must have a chance but this one's not for me. Weekend Special to romp home
Race 6 : Zebulon to place
