My understanding is that each participant is allocated 1 point per race over the 10 selections, therefore the above would equate to 10.6 points, so if that is correct a winning place bet (say) showing R 2.90 would equate to 2.9 points, so on and so forth.

to clarify
for example:

lets say this was your selections:

TURF R8 NR 3 WIN
GREY R7 NR 1 WIN
GREY R5 NR 2 place

and the result :
turf r8 nr 3 placed 3rd paying 3,20 on the tote
grey r7 nr 1 win paying 5.70 on the tote and 3,0 a place
greyville r5 nr 2 unplaced

your points will be :
0
5.7
0
total 5.7 points
