12 years 1 month ago2013 CHARITY TURF CHALLENGE sponsored by Gold Circle
The 2013 Charity Turf Challenge kicked off with the scintillating performance of, Beach Beauty, the Dennis Drier trained daughter of Dynasty. She won the Gr.2 Drill Hall Stakes and earned 14 points for her legion of followers in the competition.
Capetown Noir might have lost the Gr.2 KRA Guineas, but earned 9 points in the competition as the fast improving Vercingetorix was not listed amongst the official horse entries. Festival Of Fire gave master trainer, Mike de Kock, a Guineas double and earned 14 points. A tough campaigner, she looks to compete in most of the Fillies and Mares Graded races throughout the season.
The main task of processing all entries and capturing payments will now start in earnest and the Racing South Africa team hopes to have the first leader board out by Monday 13 May.
We thank you for your support and wish you every success this year!

The two sprint races are going to be make or break. Plenty of horses with chances and could be WAW only run.

Put WAW in a few because the 25 points will be a good haul. Gone for Cape Royal in most if my entries.

Managed 38 points - along with many others I'm sure; but I really did not even take this meeting into account when selecting my runners - so a bit of a bonus.
I also brassed WaW - very nearly went for Cape Royal, but in the end chose Royal Zulu Warrior as my sprinter:S
