Interesting point ..........how many of the top stables have 25/1 - 100/1 winners come up on them ?
Are they better at knowing and testing the ability of their runners.
Is it a case of knowing your stock and your business............GENERALLY the more professional stables run according to their expectation.................coincidence .......maybe when they do get a good horse they are better at measuring it?????

Mdk and hannon couldn't win with JJ yet Lucky conquered the

Mdk couldn't get royal harvest right but when it came back to james he won about 3 or 4 races

For all those that say its not about the horse go read Woodruffs interview in SP and he will tell you why his stable battled for a few years and why he is firing now

Hibbs go ask de kock then.
If he said that
In context maybe because topic was im only scared of David Payne and maybe Mr Drier.
When having a go.
Herman Brown senior was quality he had retired since.

but Hibbs you are also welcome to believe and anyone else is welcome to believe its the horse not trainer..

By the way not easy to improove on James Goodman.

Not much left in Lemon if it leaves his yard,

When it returns he manages to refuel it,

Hes one trainer not worth buying off.

How did you expect him to answer that question???? did you miss the answer which stated the most important "gadget" was the personnel.....................................and I am not sure firing is the right term ?.......will it be consistent? Lets wait and see...........Khan was the key to their success IMO.!!!!!

The success was all those fly nets installed at big money because vaal has bad flies.
Lucky had to kill the flies with chopsticks
woody had special flynets

Congrats to Mentor and connections.
Sorry that Anthony G relinquished his share in this horse.

Laff's absence in CT,as mentioned on TT, was due to him attending a family(daughter) issue in the UK.
After that race the stamina issue surfaced, hence his omission from the Derby.
The trek to GP is a success story.
Must be noted that LAFF has always attended the Dubai World Cup.
The name Phil Gorgia (travel expert) appeared on another topic.Laff trains for the owner.I'm sure the trainer got a freebie there.
Hence the trip was probably planned without the Classic1800 nomination.

Either way Love Struck has now earned himself a place in the VJuly.Lets see what Laff can do on his home turf.

nb.Laff/G Hawkins have always held this owner in high regards, and after reading the owners post,i'm sure all confusions are resolved.

NB Flash its the horse not the trainer,
90 % HORSE i think we should all become trainers 90 % horse 10% we can use some luck get De Kock feed and use Mcveigh the vet
and off to Dubai we go.
Maybe next year a few more SA trainers will go Dubai.

That vaal trainer did well in Dubai De kocks number 1 assistant was the vaal assistant but its not De Kock its the horse.

Its a lucky packet if you dont have nice packets you are in trouble.

Mike De Kock is just a lucky trainer.

He was in the right place right time
Poor Ricky died.
How lucky he was to get a phone call from Mrs O
How lucky he was to find Horse Chestnut.

No sorry not his selection was lucky it was sent to him.

In life we make our own luck
There is NOT 1 trainer in South Africa that is half as good as Sir Michael De Kock .
David Payne went to Aus ,he was maybe 2nd best.

Soon we will hear its 90 % horse and 10% jock.

I wonder out of 100 % how much trainer how much jockey how much horse.

Iwould like to thank Anton Marcus for saving my bets on horses that only he got home.

I am sure Mark Dixon said its the horse not Anton .lol

Now please, let"s call ducks, ducks and swans, swans> It is the horse that makes trainers and jockeys. Gondolier won the July fed on 11 percent pleasure meal. So, no more bashing of trainers please. Let it be now. Laff has trained good horses, so has Eudey. The horse is the one with ability, or no ability... an athlete. All sleep on this and hopefully, see sense. Good horses make for good trainers. Good horses make for good jockeys. Both, compliment the other.
