I agree with Tommy the fact that Mr Jooste had the winner, things transpired how they did...
Mr Jooste might not of been involved in the actual dealings of the stipes report, BUT the stipes would of been well aware of who the owner was, and I'm sure they would of felt that they were stuck between a rock and a hard place...

If you had the power to call against one of the biggest and most influencial players currently in our racing scene would you?
I know I wouldn't / couldn't due to the fact that there could be repercussions, even though I do not think he will be that type of person

The head of the starter needs to roll as he made the royal fark up,

well done again to operators and regulators for giving a reason for public mistrust.

These types of postings is what I have always been against on this site i.e. the personal attacks on persons. I really think it is uncalled for and totally unacceptable. Fark we are mature people, although at times I wonder, I would not even expect this type of behaviour from my Grand Children.

Everyone has a RIGHT to an opinion and to disagree with the opinions of others, but FFS lets do it like we expect it to be done to ourselves. IMVHO NOBODY in CONTROL at Clairwood on Sunday did their job not even half right. None of us are party to the REAL TRUTH and it will never be disclosed. So at the end of the day all we have are our opinions and thoughts.

Just for the record I agree with Tommy_Hotspur that the status of Owners COULD be brought into deliberations by the powers that be in incidents such as this, then again they might not have.

How many posters refrain from posting here because of personnal attacks be they punters, owners, trainers or even jockeys. I would much rather like to see everyone posting here and that each of us treat each with dignity that is deserved.

Hi All

It is a pity that the Duncan Howells, Alex Forbes and the Owner do not post here. I would be very interrested in their take on this incident.

They must be really fuming, they have an obviously talented baby that may not be the same after having her head & nose injured in the stall and as a result of the gate saga suffered her first defeat.

I would be really, really pissed off..........

I know that GC are not responsible for the rules by who the hell was checking/testing the gates???

Fogwils, good post.

It seems to me that some posters prefer to muddy the waters...perhaps they have a vested interest, hence the reason for personal attacks on posters who have an objective view.

With you Tommy Hotspur, truly amazing what sort of reaction your post received.

To Flash Harry & Pitates, look up the word BIGOT.

You can find the definition in the Oxford dictionary or the Thesuaris.

Why do you always bring in phumelela they had nothing to do with this. As a matter of fact neither did gold circle. The stipes as well as the starter fall under the NHA and not the clubs. Take off your blinkers some time and smell the wood from the trees.

the nhra are financed by gold circle and phumelela therefore they are not independant...the starting stalls belong to gold circle and its their responsibility to see that they are always in perfect working order ..the dog running on the track is the responsibility of gold circle..the starter in natal has been a problem for many years but nothing has been done about it..please dont come and try say that gold circle is not responsible for sundays events where we had 2 false starts not one and then all the other cock ups like the subway at greyville the abandonement of a meeting at clairwood where the going was declared to hard etc etc etc

I agree with you that the gates should of been checked but you cannot put the blame on anybody but the starter his/their heads should roll.

NHRA is financed by GC and Phumelela but they do not say how the money is spent. Paul Hepworth the chief starter did not start the race
The dog came through from the truck stop next door. I have been told it had come through a whole in the outside fence made by someone ffron the trucking area. New pens have been ordered. The subway and rain issue has been dealt to death with in previous threads. Clairwood can get very hard very quickly and I think that issue was to do with a problem with water at Clairwood.
