judging by the response on sporting post forum im not alone in my criticism of gold circle and their handling of this ugly incident which will have far reaching effects on racing in natal which is sliding a lot quicker than anticipated...you could hear from clyde basels tone on winning ways that the big brothers are watching the cockups with plenty interest

May i ask, are all the NHA rules posted in the totes? and secondly what conditions/rules are printed on the back of tote tickets?

My Blinkers maybe on... or might not, you can comment on the below and advise if I am right in my thinking or not (bearing in mind I am part of the common punting who do not know or care about the backdoor operations)
As a common punter I do not see NHA as the face of KZN racing I see GC, so to me GC needs to sort out the other companies who are managing there respective duties accordingly... And I guess that is what the punters at Clairwood sees as well... GC as the face of fiasco and not NHA
And from the banter going on this the NHA seems to be a 3rd party / subsidary (or whatever you might call them) of GC as they are getting funded / receiving some funds by GC - so surely they have ties, and through those ties, why should I support the one and not the other.
So my question is, why does GC come forth and put an extra 120K towards the meet on the 30th?
To me (as a person who just watches the races etc and not doing homework on who is linked where and what deals with what behind the doors) it looks like GC admitted to guilt of the starter F*#king up and put this 120K up as a goodwill gesture, or upon gaining a little more knowledge about the whos and who nots behind the scenes, shows that GC is doing a goodwill gesture on behalf of NHA for their F*#k up... Why??? Ties perhaps???
The likes of yourself and Craig Eudey who have a greater knowledge on all the different arms of horse racings would know, where and how deep the certain arms run, but as a punter, I do not care - I care about what I see in my racecard, and I care about the product that GC and P put out... and the product of the MS race was very poor..
In the end it does not matter, what you think - as I feel that GC needs to come down on the NHA for that, as the NHA in this case is tarnishing the face of GC and therefore none of them will get my support... as much as GC was not involved the fact that I see GC as the racing face of KZN they would be the logical party to point fingers at...
Would like to hear what Craig has to say after his meeting with the head starter...
If I am blinkered in my thought process then so be it, I apologise as I have had exposure to further understand this fiasco. but please tell me, how will you remove the blinkers from all the people who do not have access to ABC and I am referring to the person who plays there R6-00 bets per race per meet in the tote / at the race course... I am talking about the absolute common punter who do not care who or what the NHA stands for...

Bud you make perfect sense to me. The "buck" has to stop somewhere. GC is "in charge" and therefor they must take responsibilty for their employee (NHA). Towards all concerned (owners, trainers, jockeys and punters ). They enforce the rules nobody else !! Thats why they need to get their house in order. We all only ask for a FAIR DEAL for ALL concerned.

Wouter, pm me your number and I will call you if you want. Neigh, once a racemeeting is about to start it is run by the NHRA. They are not emplyees of GC, only partly funded by them. If the NHRA(stipes, starter, vets etc) are not at the races they may not run the meeting. You can have every GC director or employee on course but the meeting cannot start. There a huge arguements about some of the NHRA rules( bleeders, scratchings etc) but although we can try and change them it is up to them even though they are funded by GC and P.

@Craig its cool, no need to call me about something like this, as much as I appreciate the gesture...
I just feel that since GC is feeding the NHRA to some degree GC needs to slap them on the wrist
And since GC is the face of the KZN racing, who else can the punter vent their anger to? The NHRA how?
The punter can however take it out on one of the other arms and that is crippling the one hand that feeds them (and in this case GC is the only viable option) - in the end the common punter only sees GC so, who will get the brunt of it? not the NHRA but GC - who in turn could turn to NHRA and say buck up as you are costing us 100's of 1000's with such calls, and as a result, this hand that is feeding you, will not fund you for the days that you F*#K up coz our margins are getting F*#KED up coz of your on course calls...
What justice is there if the punter cannot hold anyone accountable
I read on here how a lot of clanners are putting pressure on GC with Mr Rutherford at the helm, this just ads fuel to the fire... seeing as they are already in the spotlight...

Craig, how many starters are there? Surely you only need one, as at the most, there are a maximum of 20 races a week and that`s if we have 10 races per meeting witch is mostly never the case. Is he a full-time employee? as I am sure if he is then he will be well paid and should be at the start for every race.
