My horse claimed

If you fancy your own horse than you must be armed, ready and waiting when tho odds are released.

Once the market opens it's a free market, whether we like it or not.

I could write books about my horses being claimed first time out.

Best was a horse called Melting Ice, eventually a one time winner. She posed with jockey up for a picture to promote the Mercury Sprint although she had never run and was bred for distance, eventually winning over a mile and a half at Clairwood. After the photo shoot she galloped with 2 previous winners and since I was there she naturally "won". First time out she opened 20/1 and was "claimed" to 3/1 although very little money went on I believe. She finished second last after a leisurely outing over 1200m. Whoever claimed her, good luck to you !!!!

You could speculate for hours....someone has posted on this site....the stats for horses that are claimed....that actually win...it was not very good if I can recall....
If you don't feel that the horse is worth the odds....don't punt...

PS...I fancy Opening Salvo for a big upset....

Sorry but be careful guys the horse G.Lerena rides looks like value and when there is this much hype around a horse it almost always bets beat. But Brass if your on I hope it wins for you my man.

Hey Brasss I feel for you. But imvho an owner buys the horse and with the horse he buys the furutre earnings, the breeding, the show jumping, the whatever fun and, unfortunately most of the time, the bones for soup. However, what the owner never buys is the bookie's price. This is owned by both the bookie and the punter.

Hoping to get 6 to 1 or better then we will have a bet otherwise just let it run
