For me there is a lovely 7/1 double on two of Strikers rides that ran against each other last time. If you use the LBH tool on formgrids you will see that Taptap Makatini would have run a neck behind Pylon and a repeat of that run will make him very hard to beat. Cool Approach who ran 21 lengths behind in that race has come out to win. Keagan's Jet finished comfortably in second and looks the right one. If Keagan's Jet wins well the odds on Taptap will probably tumble. Both horses seem to be coming on the right was on the surface and I believe this is an excellent double. (tu)

Can't fault your logic and 7/1 the double does look very tasty - but if Keagan's Jet does manage to get beat in that field, maybe Tap Tap is vulnerable - if you take a line through Flaming Forge (admittedly it is turf form), Tap Tap may have his work cut out to beat Henry Higgins - but Tap Tap may be another Pylon in terms of sand vs turf ability. I make Henry Higgins a very good place bet - he has only finished further back than 5th once (in yielding going) in his last 10 starts - winning twice - but his MR has only gone up 3 points from 59 to 62.

Other runners who imo look to have nice each way claims at good odds, are Winter Frost in the 2nd, Swordsman in the 4th and Marius in the 6th.

Yes Frodo that's why the double if Keagan's Jet loses the I would leave Taptap but if he franks the form then we have a good bet.

Taptap could well be a better sand horse.

Agreed Greg also make him a big runner. Reported lame last time out and looks a decent chance. (tu)

In race 6 Danzig’s Odds is the leading contender with Bownore close behind if reproducing his best form, however they are drawn 13 +14, which at best can be 11+12 with scratchings.
Favourable draws over 1200m have been even ‘more favourable’ over the last 2 months. The following results show number of runners in the race and draw positions, in sequence of the first 4 finishers: -

12 : 1-3-2-5
11 : 2-4-3-11
8 : 3-1-4-7
12 : 2-3-1-6
11 : 8-3-1-2
10 : 4-5-1-7
11 : 2-1-7-3
12 : 5-2-8-4
11 : 5-4-1-3

The 3 outside draws in these 9 races have only managed 2 x 4th places from 27 runs.

These days personal preference for races at 1200m has become draw over and above speed ratings. Of the ‘known’ well drawn contenders, Marius, Motown, Victory Day and, if running, Rulesofengagement have all shown some ‘promise’ yet not really improved enough to become ‘winners’.
