Want some good advice for 2013 buy as many shares in PHM as you can find and get on the train.

@Ian Jayes:

'How anyone can think I can be getting a kick out of what is happening to me is beyond belief. How superficial and stupid can anyone be? '

I was just being somewhat sarcastic on the header, Ian; no personal offense! I worded it wrong!

This is utterly shameful that people in power would stoop so low as to try and deprive a man of a living just because he stood up to question the status quo. There is no justice in local horse racing administration and operation ,and the lengths that they will go to, to ensure total control is sickening.

Then there are those that took the path of least resistance and were openly bribed to tow the line and now find themselves sitting very pretty. This is ever so typical of the spineless corrupt people that are attracted to easy money. If they were openly able to sell out so easy they are more inclined to cheat and have no compunction to operate dishonestly.

There was a Trainers' Association which is now defunct. There was just too much dissension in its ranks with certain trainers doing everything in their power to stymie the efforts of the rank and file on issues of importance like:

Having a census of our horse population so that proper programming can be done.

Having proper "divided" handicaps made up from a long handicap without benchmarks.

Not being consulted about field sizes and splitting the Vaal straight in half.

Not providing races over the intermediate distance of 1300 metres as we used to have at Gosforth Park and Newmarket.

And so forth.

What must be understood is that with the exception of a relative handful of trainers that train for the very big owners, the majority of trainers are vulnerable and are afraid to be seen taking an anti-establishment stand.

I worked hard with Ian Jayes on the trainers association and found him to be a thoroughly honorable man. He stood up for what he believed was right .In a democracy everyone is entitled to their say and he was one of the few who stood up and was counted. I am sad that his career has come to this but I more than most understand the subterfuge in this business
