Lay Bet

Good morning Clan. I came across this type of bet on the Interbet site.

Any explanation how this work will be much appreciated. Good luck to all those with runners today as well as all punters !

Dave if you go onto the Interbet site and you click on the drill down arrow at "Bet type" you will find All bets,Back, Lay ? I have read some time back here on ABC clanners were talking about "laying a bet" ??

Just want to find out whetherit is a type of bet which one can place and how does it work.

Are you sure you mean Interbet? have had a look and could not find that field but basically the punter backs and the bookie lays in SA

Dave yes definately Interbet. If you log in and see the main page you click on "My account" then on "Finalised Bets". On the left hand side you will see "Bet Type", if you click on the drill down arrow you will notice the options "all, Back, Lay".

From your explanation above, I gather that the bookie places a bet on behalf of the punter ? I thought it was a type of bet you could place ?

I am on zoros computer but basically Interbet are an exchange that facilitate between the punters and the bookmakers, so when a bookmaker who can back and lay checks his account he can see what he has layed.

Hope this helps. if you want to lay you have to have a bookmakers license
