Don't mean to be a bore but as great as Frankel is to watch it's time to step up in trip and test his stamina against better horses. I simply don't see the point any more of taking on inferior fields when there are sterner tests out there.
He will probably go on to destroy all and sundry over 10 furlongs it would be far more exciting seeing him take on other opposition than milers who have no chance.

Saksy I dont think it is his fault that the standard of the field is a bit weaker than normal but no one else wants to take him on and race for 2nd when they could win other races that he is not contesting. He is beating other Group one horses easily now. Henry Cecil has his races planned out and the rest can decide if they want to take him on. They would probably run away if he ran over further anyway.

They way he settled today he could probably win over 3200m (
)
Heads to the Judmonte now(probably his last run)

And the speed he has could probably win over 1000m too. (tu)

FANS of Frankel, who cemented his status as the world's best racehorse with another ultra-impressive performance in Wednesday's Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, could get an extra chance to see the superstar in action this season with connections considering a surprise tilt at the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp.

Sussex Stakes result and analysis
It would a first overseas trip for the Sir Henry Cecil-trained colt, but the race - a Group 1 over 1m on September 16 - would plug a gap between Frankel's main targets; the Juddmonte International at York on August 22 and Ascot's Qipco Champion Stakes on October 20.
Owner Khalid Abdullah's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe said after Frankel's Sussex stroll: "There are two obvious races left for him, the Juddmonte and the Champion Stakes, but there is a gap of nearly two months between them and Henry may decide to give him a race in between, possibly something like the Prix du Moulin.
"We just want to give him the best chance to show himself as the best and if there's a race to do that in we'll go for it. At the moment Ascot will be his farewell."

I believe if stepped up in trip he would have more challengers. Yes I think they could get murdered but there's always an element of doubt until he actually does it. That would be far more exciting than giving him a grass gallop over opposition we know to be vastly inferior. Obviously the trainer can run him where he wants to but he's won what he needs to over a mile. I would love to see him run in the arc and maybe the breeders cup. For me the test of the thoroughbred is that he is versatile over different distances, can handle different conditions, that he can travel and still perform.
I really hope he gets to take on Camelot. As much as racing needs champions it needs big match-ups.
