Football Talent S.A Kids

I have been part of junior football for 6 years now, I have witnessed boys from different clubs growing up and developing into great young talents.

How many of these boys will get to live out their dreams of becoming pro footballers, when the invites to showcase your talents are usually restricted to under privilaged clubs or to the superior academies ( no middle class )

This country will never move forward if the nomination process is continued in this fashion, I have seen awesome talent on display from local clubs (Easterns Alberton, Benoni and Boksburg)
I am sure other regions have the same problems where their talents are not exposed, we need to grab these talents at a young age and develop them into future stars.

Frustrating to watch the National team perform so poorly when we have all this talent begging for a chance

A perfect example is the school of excellence from Cape Town gets full exposure (Pienaar reigns from there) and selection but can't even beat part timers Benoni High

Where to is the question

This is possibly true I am not sure on the process of getting into one of these clubs is,
I believe if you are employed as a scout for these bigger clubs talent should be on merit and your job should be to scout all clubs to identify talent,

I suppose we are years behind the likes of the Europian system just hope the next generation is selected from the entire country and not just a few selected schools and clubs.

For a soccer mad nation we really are below standard. Maybe look at how the rugby selections are processed.

This has been happening around the country for many many years...your best option is to get hold of someone like Mike Makaab in your area and let them advice further...we have many young boys (some as young as 10) from Dbn on trial in Europe...Delron Buckley started the trend in the 90's when he by passed the local system and went straight to Germany and enjoyed more than 15 years there...there have been others as well...go to Mike's website for his details...just 2 weeks ago we raised funds to send an 11 year old to Spurs...the Chiefs and Pirates academies award full bursaries to some but most pay their way to achieve their dreams.

Sickening that we can pay a coach '''Millions'' during the world cup but can't provide money or a decent academy for our local talent...:(

I have seen website and will contact Mike and continue persuing a solution to these young wasted talents.

Greg money never well spent in this country for some reason we believe the more we pay the better the results not always a wise move and horse racing teaches us that cheap ones can run too (JJ and company)

16 years on seems like nothings changed.we had a league and at the end of the season a compo where teams from districts from the whole of natal would compete .guess what the natal squad would end up with all black players mainly from amazulu who would always ended up mid table in our league.in most countries talented players would be spotted in your leagues not in sa,hence the state of our national team
