I won't agree with you entirely, but in the context of of Saturday's race the 4/10 about Variety Club (MR 116) is a steal. In the broader scheme of things, it is not in the best interest of both Pierre Jourdan (MR 114) and Tales Of Bavery (MR 113) to beat him if they have any July aspirations in mind. Going through the balance of the field, What A Winter, there's no guarantee he will stay, Link Man is having his second run after a 5 month break and Castlethorpe, well he has always been rated just below the best of his generation, he may be the exacta horse. Getting back to VC, i think the stable always had two features in mind, one already achieved and Saturday could be mission accomplished.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Agree Sheza and he will pulverise this field even if there was no penalties for the horses wanting a place in the July whom do not want penalties for "good runs"

The tight tracks in the far east will suit him to the tee GB, with his handy running tactics

Not to detract from a very good horse - at the weights on Saturday he seems beatable by Tales of Bravery, but as stated earlier in this thread, it's probably (if ToB is going for the July) not in ToB's interest to beat VC - also ToB probably not 100% yet for this race (again, if he is going for the July), while this race is VC's mission - so 6/10 probably not a bad price imo. The one thing that still worries me slightly is the pace in the race, No obvious front runners, so VC will have to set a fairly good pace up front in order to not make it a sprint up the straight, which would obviously make What a Winter a danger

Contrary to popular belief I think that this race is in fact Tales Of Bravery's mission.I have always been of the opinion that he does not stay 2000m,and Marshall said in his interview after the Drill Hall Stakes that he would try and keep TOB and Top Seller away from competing against each other. Now that Tribal Dance has sneaked into the top 20 on the July log too,TOB will be having a full go at this race. The Champions Cup over 1800m on the 28th July is also a Grade 1,and that is the other target for TOB.
Imo Tales Of Bravery will not take his place in the July this year.

If this is indeed the case ToB is great value on Saturday
