MrH ,I have given up on lots of these issues which is why I did not even comment on the quality of the call.
However, I share your sentiments entirely in respect of the comments of the "anonymous" journalist RANDOM THOUGHTS.
Bad commentaries, day after day ,month after month and as shown by one of the other posts ,year after year, can hardly be described as a "trivial oversight".
He also fails to also point out that a lot of the "legend" occurred before the events that lead up to the unscheduled sabbatical.
I am the first to concede that in the early days, once you became accustomed to the sing-song style,Bumpy was very accurate, but those days were long long ago.

I agree with what you say Rob,in terms of there being no point in commenting on them anymore.I've been beating the same drum for 5 years on this site now,but it clearly serves no purpose past self-aggravation.Nobody who has any authority seems to care.Sad but true.

I found this rather funny
"We will be very surprised and disappointed if Phumelela take action"
Do u think they will also take action against Ngong, coverage of the 2000 gns, improve customer service, etc, etc
Classic stuff!

SPORTING POST
A commentator’s bad line-call added some fun and games to an entertaining programme at Fairview this afternoon. The way punters have reacted, one would think we live in a perfect world.
The author of the Sporting Post article OR kindly posted is evidently a complete and utter kn*b from another planet.
My money is not fun and games for the general public's amusement.
It has nothing to do with "perfection", it has everything to do with professionalism.
Fark man... real world's left you a million miles behind...
To help explain, in very simple terms... Barry Richards is a South African cricket legend, he even flew places to do his poorly paid job, that does not mean you want him to open the batting for you this summer does it??!!
Brainless d*ck!

Commentators get old and too comfortable and like any other profession have to move on.In the UK Graham Goode,Jim Magrath etc used to commentate the worlds/UKs biggest races now they are calling Plumpton and Folkestone, not because they are getting fortunes but because they made mistakes and have been moved on...
