Tipster gains/losses and percentages

13 years 1 month ago
#224835
I have been keeping records of a tipster that I paid for tips.

After just over a month I want to publish my results. ROI's and win/loss and strike rate for 44 meetings.

Anybody interested?
Must I reveal the tipster?
Does the owner of this forum have any objections?

There are no vendettas in play here. I am not peed off but the figures are negative.
I just think that it is information that we all could use and I am sure the tipster could respond?and a lively debate could follow.

You should just take note of all the tips on these pages and work out what you want to take. I believe that over a month you will make a profit and it will cost you nothing.

There is a big difference between mentioning horses and winning bets and actually singularly identifying and backing the talk with the cash. Nt disrespecting some seriously accurate consistent tipping in this forum.
And that is where I respect tipsters cause they put their nuts out there in a vulnerable way....well the ones that are willing to identify actual bets, and not give some watered down if-but-can do-cant do cop out.

However .. I do not believe most, if not all, punters do not keep track of their bets. And that is where mirages appear. So the results I hold give insight into the probability of profit given a flat line betting strategy from a professional.

Guys we are all adults and can make our own minds up how we spend our Rand,if people want to pay for tips let them pay for tips. They will soon make their own mind up if they are hot or useless..

Avanza try posting the info without naming names just now...

Also not sure a months worth of facts and figures is a broad enough sample?

If records were kept and the same analysis was done for the tipsters, individually, on the forum,it would be interesting to see who actually has a reasonably consistent strike rate ................much fewer than you think.
If "tipsters" are to be tested, the same criteria should be used!
Historically, the forum also goes through waves of very successful punters ,making big profits, who then disappear suddenly,(I suspect, having run out of money)..........check the history........its fun reading when you bored!
You will notice too, that there is a section that are much more successful with bets posted after the race is run, than before it.........lol
What I find useful, and I am grateful for is people like the Shams,Hotline and other owners who keep us updated on the wellbeing of horses........that is valuable.

I can only bit admire the transparency that this offers. Cuts out the B/S that we have to endure from people that try and sell information.
However all they really trying to do is bottom feed off of peoples search for a reliable consistent source of information. Which in my opinion does not exist.

The results are posted under a new thread named 'TIPSTER results - What I paid for..'
