Remember Bushmanland? 1st start after returning from several stud seasons, gets caught under the gates and had to be euthenased. Absolutely tragic.

Buddy Maroun returned a champion sprinter also after several seasons at stud, aaaah I can't remember his name but it was a Newmarket night meeting. He was owned the by late Gunter and what was also interesting was that he had a son in the same race. But he ran a very bad race and never returned.

There was an instance years ago of a mare who ran in a race in Cape Town - against one of her own daughters. :D True story, believe it or not.

I think one of them was called Proud Heritage (not to be confused with a filly of the same name that Laff trained much later), but I could be wrong.
