I was both shocked and greatly saddened to learn today of the untimely passing, in the early hours of Sunday, of my Tellytrack colleague, Craig Bakos, from a heart attack, at the age of only 40. Craig was a hugely supportive fellow, a great mate to all of us T/T staffers and very good at his job in the data room. Coming so soon after the passing of Harold Sterley, Craig's death is a huge blow to all his colleagues and to Tellytrack itself.
He was never short of a quip, knew racing inside out, and loved nothing more than to shout his fancies home, in the corridors of the organisation. I can still hear "Go, you biscuit", ringing in my ears.
Heartfelt condolences to his loved ones, particularly his children, his parents and his brother, Kevin, who has lost two brothers in as many years, both from heart related ailments.
Craig's larger than life presence will remain with us for a long time.
My long Monday presenting shift today will be very hard to bear, knowing that only last Monday we shared the burden together and breathed a joint sigh of relief when the 11 hours came to an end.
