Holy roman emperor a coolmore shuttle stallion has had 2 runners in sa,all undefeated wth 6 wins between them. With the sad passing of jet master and the improving quarantine restrictions.Do we realy need some overseas blood to inject some power into our bloodstock.

did some other wise arse not start a Holy Roman Emperor thread to highlight the capability of this rather mediocre sire.....:S

Maybe someone else should have done one for some other ozzie sire....Kaya there are plenty HRE's in the UK and a crop in Ozz... we seem to have 2 of the better performers here and yes local breeders import sires at a rate of a almost 5 a year that is where our genetic improvement is supposed to come from....as for shuttling to SA it is not economically possible due to our AHS problems...Silvino and Kabool were orginally supposed to shuttle and got "trapped" here...::o

He is regarded so in the UK....and some local boffin(s) have challenged my HRE thread on other sites.....I find his ped picture easy to read and the 4 (that I know of,that we have here) are really nice types....;)

Jeez muhti you nd some uk boffins are hard to plz.OK ok HRE dsnt hve a bettr racing resume( 2 grade one wins) ahead of stable hot boys like gallileo montjeu high chapparal. So i presume he wont get the all the best gal in the yard. But he was the leading 2 year old sire last year in terms of total prize money nd number of winners in uk/ireland although with no group one winner .Nt to shabby 4 smbdy whs damsire is greatest damsire in mordern times SECRETARIAT

I can't say I'm sorry that Silvano got "trapped" here.>:D< But I get the point, and obviously to freely shuttle stallions wouild bolster the quality of our bloodstock tremendously. We'd never be able to afford to do irt on the same scale as the Aussies, but one stallion I'd enjoy seeing pop in for an annual visit to these shores is Footstepsinthesand. I dunno why, I just think he'd suit SA and I reckon he's going to throw a few bombs here and there.
