so this is what a term of endearing refers to,i wander what Anton Marcus or other jocks think about it,people using this term to describe jockeys. No wonder potential owners, punters ,youngsters are not interested in investing money into the game.Goodman was fired as a presenter on course for badmouthing jockeys

Do you think it is fair to generalize about jockeys using this term of endearment to describe them, would you take it,i dont think so,there are many, many jockeys who follow this forum daily but it might be unproffesional or unethecal for them to participate

Why are you having a go at the jocks - was it a bad day at the races.??
You now what this game is like a rugby or football match NO REF -NO GAME AND no JOCK NO RACE
SO GET ON WITH IT AND FIND YOUR SELF'S A GOOD JOCK They are human like you and me.

Yes I agree there are good ones and bad ones it is life and even the bad ones mess it up from time to time,
I would like some jock to have there say on this site, and I am sure there are some NASTY owner as well

[Jockeys] Freaks, freaks, freaks! We are the jockeys, jockeys are we We live underground in a fiberglass tree [Jockey #1] Ha!
[Jockey #2] Ooo!
[Jockey #3] Haha! 'Tween Earth and Hell, we reign supreme
[Jockey #4] On toadstool thrones by a chocolate stream
[Jockey #5] But all is not well in Jockey Town
[Jockey #6] Your renegade horse is making us frown
[Homer] What do you want me to do?
[Jockey #7] Your horse must lose
[Homer] My horse must lose?
[Jockey #7] No win!
[Jockey #8] No show!
[Jockey #3] No place!
[Jockey #4] Just lose the stinkin' race
[Homer] And what if I refuse to lose?
[Jockey #8] We'll eat your brain
[Homer] My horse must lose!

Bad company was one of my fav bands in my youth, but you should really stop listening to rumours in your taxis, but by the way you talk about jockeys tells me you are mixing with the wrong crowd of racing folk.Make it your new years resolution there is still time

I think watching striker and marcus , delpech etc on some mediocre horses that they get to win i personally have seen striker get a dog which was a known dog (even barked a bit) to win. I believe jock counts for more than 5 perc otherwise why do the yards want the top boys? if the margins are so minimal re improvement etc. Logic tells you they are better probably IMO closer to 20 perc and hence their demand. However no matter what jock on certain horses like Gida they are moderate and come under pressure in 3 strides with any jock on they will battle to win. Only Anton got it to run second when at the 400m it would have been lucky to run a place with most jocks.

nicky roebuck rode it the time before..he had the stick out around the bend already and he got the horse to stay on for third..beaten a nose by the 2nd horse..if marcus had ridden it that day then people would say only marcus got it to stay on..??

Used to think "poison dwarf" also referred to Charlene Tilton who played Lucy Ewing in the infamous Dallas series !!
