Have u ever been conned
13 years 3 months ago
I was listening to credit watch on ECR this morning and hear that a lot of soccer supporters has been taken for a ride. The company they booked to go and see the Chelsea/man game "dissappeared. Nice program to hear in the mornings, puts u aware as to whats happening around us. Some supporters that reached airport found out that there was no one to transfer them and it cost some guys around GB300 for a ticket.

I heard of a scam doing the rounds a few year back where you would get an email telling you who would win lose or draw in a Football match. After getting the correct result for 4 weeks they said that you could buy a fool proof system that they use for XXX and back the winning team every week. After predicting 4 out of 4 the people bought the system and the lost their money.
The scam was, the people has an email list of lets say 90,000 people. They sent 30,000 a home win, 30,000 a draw and 30,000 an away win. For game 2 they only emailed the 30,000 people that won in Game one and in Game 2 they sent 10,000 a home win, 10,000 a draw and 10,000 an away win. Game 3 the same and game 4 the game leaving around 1,000 people with 4 correct results.

I think so...two weeks ago a tipster told me of a deal going down between jockeys and that the double would work out 10/1. All they wanted was R24000-00 (R8000-00 from me, him and someone else would cover it). Then I had to punt the double to make my investment back with a profit. After depositing the R8000-00 I received the info on the two "winners" for the meeting, now only working out 4/1. After punting R5000-00 on the double, desperate to recover my investment, I could only wait for the result.
Guess what....yip, the 7/10 won but the closest I came to a double was when I drove past a bar!!!!!!!!!!! The excuse: It was the worst ride ever seen from a jock - ja right. If it was a deal agreed between jocks how the hell can that be an excuse.
But wait for this, yes there is more: A week later I received an sms and several phone calls (which I ignored) from this now famous dude that we can recover on a 6/1. All we had to due was pay the Vet fees of R4200-00....
Yes I feel like a prostitute but it was an expensive lesson. All the profit I made from the Igugu win was given away because I trusted someone else. It was probably the worst choice I made in my life...but people like that pisses me off.
Conned?....Me?...For F%#&*@N sure!!!!!!

Braam, I was contacted by a person about 3 or 4 years ago with the same story I told them to get stuffed. Was the person a lady (I think) with a very rough voice?

Braam, I had a similiar call about a year ago. I am a small punter but i was asked a pay R5000.00 for the info. I said the guys i will think about it . The next morning i declined the offer. On race day, i was called an told to play the double. Info was thus given to me for free, 1st horse ran short head second and the second horse unplaced. Thank god i did not fall into their trap or i would be +R5000 out of pocket

Serious guys, it is a man who has been prominent in the news. But I won't pay for info in my life again, not even tipsters I respect. Bad taste in my mouth because I trusted him.

come guys how can you pay for "once off info" as such..if you going to punt for someone the only way to do it is punt it and if it wins you give a cut..end of story..
