Incosistant Objection Results
13 years 4 months ago
Can anyone tell me how tonight's objection in the 3rd race could be upheld with hardly a 5 minute debate and the exact replica (Zambucca vs Carnaby Street) was overuled,... the mind boggles,,

I don't agree with tonight's call but I would hardly call them exact replicas.

Magic and Titch i have to agree with you . That call by the stipes was a disgrace. There is no way that the 2nd horse could have beaten the winner who was a length ahead. Sure he carried him off a straight course but to argue that he would have been able to pass him that close to the line is ridiculous.

If it was so cut and dry why did the Stipes not object????
A/Oak would never have beaten P.O.L.
The jock on A/Oak never ever stopped riding,
he only changed his whip........
The worst i've ever seen and its a bloody disgrace!!
J.Goodman and Laff should view this one on thier show.

I'm shocked never even thought there were grounds for an objection, only heard result was amended much later in the evening when I turned on to TT to watch race 6....:

Amazing, whenever there is a controversial happening there is a problem with the replay. The other day I wanted to warch a controversial race and they "mistakenly" had another race in its place.

I had a few rand on Zambucca and was a little disappointed that the result wasn't overturned, but last night's objection and turnaround was a joke to say the least

Sure enough I've gone to have a look at the Zambucca incident - it mistakenly has a replay from a Vaal sand race in its place - incredible.
Below is an objection that was overruled - amazing in the light of last night's decision - hurry before they overlay it by mistake.

In the interests of improving the credibility of racing, not only should replays be available when there is controversy, but they should include an explanation of the factors considered in an objection and reasons for the outcome.
Personally ,having raced for 40+years,I know that the "old" objection rules did not cause nearly as much debate or disagreement as the current set.
Racing should be doing everything in it's power to improve its image by transparency!
