I agree with the Andrew Fortune thing, if it was the US it would be a blockbuster in the mould of the Secreteriat movie.
The truth is horseracing is an uncomfortable truth or reality in the society we live in and therefore is kept in the dark.
Lets compare with the humble beer. SAB has won many a competition for beer making throughout the world but barring any self promotion, we would not know this. Within those competitions there are people with stories which go untold. What is the net result of the glory of winning a beer making championship? Well it could for some be harmless for most but for others it could result in destruction of self worth and an unravelling of the "decent social fabric" (description below).
In the same way, people can gamble on racing in moderation or put the rent money on a runner in the Met. Our society which is guided by the medias idea of "decent social fabric" and which probably feels that racing is not a part of this as a result of the potential for rent investment on Met day, is reluctant on racing but is quite comfortable to splash images of murder on the front page of papers.
Conclusion racing media has a lot of work to do to bring racing to the fore in the mainstream media. Maybe the only way to do it is with the almighty buck. SAB does it.

Fairly big news, and hasn't raised a comment.
And rumours abound about the favourite and silence there too except for 16/10 about a champion who looked to be odds on.
All this with 6 days and a sale to go. We really can't complain that we're not being entertained.
After Val De Ra yesterday, we've all lost any right to complain about anything for at least a month.

Yeah I think the age old adage that" a good colt will always beat a good gelding will always beat a filly/mare " is now out the window.

Please be advised that Chesalon is a doubtful starter for the J&B Met, due to a suspected left fore check ligament injury. Trainer, Mike Bass, will confirm the horse’s race fitness as soon as possible.

Have also heard rumours about Igugu and noticed the drift in the betting
