Easy,So 4,8 (3.8/1) and pay the stake is better than 3/1 FOR FREE.
.......and you preach value???????
Once you have had your bet FOR FREE.....who cares who "knows your hand"
You taking the piss,right.

During the debates on strange tote dividends,we suggested that an increased take-out was a likely culprit.
Now the question arises .....are rebates to customers provided by "P" for onward transmission to overseas users.....if so we know why that question has never had an answer.
If that is the case, the SA punters are receiving a reduced value and a bum steer,to provide an incentive to "uitlanders"
Surely we should insist on clarification on all the special deals .......perhaps the commision of enquiry may expose the truth.

Rob
of course its value for many many reasons.
1: after 4 bets you are "getting on for free"
2: you can shorten your horse so drastically and then let the snowball affect happen , after which you can lay back and end up with the same free bet.
maybe you tasking the piss

Easy ,I am only responding to your original comment........let me explain 4.8 =3800/1000 compared to 3000/FA ???? which converts to a price of infinity........ which is a lot better than 4.8.....lol......so how does 4.8 represent 27% better..
The best bets in the world are those with no possibility of a loss, which constitutes ultimate value.
I am trying to understand why every 4th bet free is better than every bet free?

Betfair is a licence to print money for all the cheats.
I have watched numerous races, especially national hunt races where jockeys have pulled the horse.
You cant tell certain jockeys you are going to or have punted your horse until they are in the parade ring, just in case they are GOT AT.You cant back one early for the same reason.
The best way of landing a touch is of the opening shows..less time for the cheats to get involved

rob rather let me explain how its "free" lets say my name is priceclever or ricardo hanson
I have a horse i am going to tip/back depending whioch of the 2 gentlemen you are.
the horse is at 4.4 and i fancy it big time. I am also going to make it known that its fancied either via an interview or in a article i might write or even if i call said bookmaker and inquire about the price.
So i log onto betfair before the "announcement" and i get £5000 on at 4.4 then all of a sudden word gets out and the odds start to plummet. Funny enough though i have put in to lay the horse at 2.88 for £5000 my nett is now £7600 (less comm) to 0.00000000000000000000
Thats why bookies hate betfair they are not needed anymore, they are used and spat out , pretty much how they treated horseracing in this country.

Easy,as you know, I promote exchanges ad nauseum.
I pretty much know how to use them(always still learning though) and I see the point of your last post.......but the owner/trainer could still do all that,at the same time as taking the 3000/FA (the same as0.0000 recurring & free before even having to trade) .
That would further guarantee the shortening price/trade,and they've got the bet as well!
I am sorry but I can make no sense of why it is so "smart" to turn up a free bet..........it enhances the strategy you are talking about.
The real issue is that exchanges open up a whole new world but many users battle to get their head around them.I was amazed to be told what a small % of Betfair's customers actually ever lay.....which means they also never trade.
It suggests there may be opportunities to run workshops on laying/trading etc.when exchanges are operational here.

they dont (i know this for a fact as i am pretty close to some people at bf) alot of trainers dont speak to the big firms any more. you see betfair also have a huge "feel good" factor about them. they put huge money into racing.
they have signed huge names in racing and transparency is the name of the game. Paul Nicholls for one
