If you ask me, i say DEFINITELY yes! I think there are a few of them.
I obviously have no proof, but i think it is happening.

If some don't or are not allowed to, I'm sure family and friends do on their behalf, whether laying or backing.

It's so hush hush, cos they actually not allowed to. This is affecting results and punters pockets and fattening theirs.

That is the problem Peekay.....If betting patterns were available a lot of the manipulation would be a bit dangerous to the manipulators.
The recent activities in the UK were pointed out by Betfair.......and we think they are bad for racing?

Is the Pope Catholic!!!
Some of these pricks have no shame, I have seen some of them walking into bookmaker premisis and leaving with cash!!!!
Again the authoritories are to blame. Some Jocks were reported and casually warned by an employee of our local Jockey Club not to make it so obvious!!!! This took place some years ago but it still happens. Then again a not so fashionable jock around the same time was reported for betting in a tote outlet in Sandton. He was on a suspension at the time and had his licience
revoked. He battled for years thereafter to get licience back and finally he was reinstated.

Just something to consider here boys- When a horse is 6-10 Favourite or the connection of the horse have a bet and there has been a big move in the betting do you think that the horse knows there is money on it and it has to run faster and better than normal- at the end of the day its the animal that has to run the race and not the betting or the money behind it? – This is always easily forgot, there are a million things that can go wrong eg. loading the horse on to the float or to taking it down to the start to loading it in the stalls these are just the very basics . People and punters alike forget you dealing with amazing animals in this sport that are true athlete and bred to run – If he is fit and gets the good run in the race if he is 1-10 or 100-1 you know that the horse is doing what it loves to do and that is race. I’m sure every jockey and trainer will be delighted if it wins or tries its best – Jockey and Trainer are in this game for the love of horse not trying to make a quick buck here and there.
Oh ya and do jockey have a bet , No, yes, maybe, who knows im not a jockey ......

agree Shezi, but this does not take away that the jocks are betting and there is a "gap" for them to alter the result

Jocks are allowed to bet on their own rides.
