Some of you really need to move out of Gauteng or emigrate. I know you think that you think Gauteng is SA but you are sadly mistaken.

Africa has never been for cry babies. Van Riebeck and the boys new that and our history has always told us that. Do you honestly think it was any better pre 94, with the former regime lining up family and friends and plundering state resources. In the background murder, rape etc was happening but covered by the same kind censorship as the Protection of State Information Bill intends to slightly introduce. In fact you are lucky that you are able to post on a forum such is this, the former regime would have been monitoring it and locking people up who stepped out of line. Perhaps this site would not have even been able to exist under the pre 94 regime.

You sit and complain about the plundering of resources but I bet most of you have never been politically involved and some of you probably have never even bothered to vote. The only contribution you make is a from an armchair. Armchair politicians do not change things.

Back to the topic. The KZN South Coast is a beautiful place but unfortunately with the rapid development of the North Coast and neglect it has slowly lost its sparkle. It tends to be a bit disconnected from the rest of KZN and Durban in general. Margate itself is supposed to be a quaint little holiday town but it has lost its magic due to a lack of community vision for the place. We have a mish mash of un holiday types of shops springing up from Chinese, Loan sharks, sex shops, Tatoo parlours and estate Agents mixed with Franchise Restaurants. Hardly screaming quaint holiday town. Still very much a domestic rather than an international holiday destination. However, there are quite a few English citizens down our way who either visit regularly or have bought in places like South Broom.

For some history, the KZN Midlands offers the battlefields tour where you can go to the places where actual people sacrificed themselves in order for all of us including the whiners to be sitting where we are right now. Battle of Blood river etc. www.battlefields.kzn.org.za/index.php?districthome+21

The Garden Route is awesome and if you decide to do this why not stop in at Umngazi River Bungalows. Perfect place to unwind. www.umngazi.co.za . You will get a real taste of a very magical part of Africa and the Pondo / Xhosa culture.

You don't need a bullet proof jacket in these areas. you may need one in the wild west of JHB where if anything you may get caught in the crossfire of the paranoid who shoot at anything that moves including each other.

Dave there are places where you live that you know should not go into. Same applies in SA

I will see what I can find out. You are going to pay a premium over that period. Mauritius may be cheaper lol!

When you say Mid South Coast are you referring to the Scottburgh area?
