howcome striker is battling for rides in the big races

Finally got to watch the cup and dingaans preview ,what was interesting is that strydom said he called for the ride on straw market but could not get the ride,ferraris 1st choice was gavin lerena who opted for potala palace,then instead of giving it to striker he gives it to sherman brown,now surely striker is 10x better than brown(imo)

He then called tarry who gave pomodoro to cormack after fradd chose whiteline fever

Mdk does not use strydom anymore as well

Is strydom losing out on good rides in the group races cos he does not ride work or is it something else that's putting the bigger yards off using his services ?

He is a very talented rider and would love him on any horse I owned but would probably not be calling for anything I have lol

Strikers ride on Echohawk yesterday was brilliant, I think Striker has had a few fallouts with some of the top trainers. I would also have him on one of my horses any day of the week.

In my opinion there are 25 really top riders in SA at the moment. Excluding the top 3 apprentices. Most of them are riding in the Dingaans. Where the senior jocks make a diff is they can call on years of experience that the yungins dont have.
Example the echohawk rode over the week end.

Strydom has howevr got some decent rides on the card including his ride in the summer cup not without a chance. Zaki knows how to win summer cups. De Broglio a very lucky owner so who knows.

He said his 2 winning rides on the day are katies lane and mirage drive

He also said that de Kock would win 3 yesterday - jocks not great tipsters imo

I remember a good few years ago when James Goodman was the main presenter, there was a Race run almost identical to Echohawks Race yesterday.
Goodman said it is what they call a Jockey's Race, when they let a Horse get so far in front and only start to run on when they know the leader cannot be caught.
I am sure that after making that statement, James Goodman was systematically removed from his role as main presenter.
As for Striker, he is undoubtedl World Class, but there are more than a few Punters and Owners who believe he should be pushing, when he is pulling8-)

Have to agree Strydom for all his amazing riding ability ,pulls far more than he pushes i would rather put my work rider on my horse than allow him near my horses . could the pulling instead of the pushing be construed as dishonesty?????

how can one senior professional rider be that much better than the other...that cant be...age old problem for us punters...focusing on jocks instead of horses
