craig thanks to you for trying to get my idea across but its very CLEAR to me that due to the very small minority of tunnelvisioned people who have their own interests and one or two of their owners that the idea will never come to fruition ...we try put forward ideas to help punters to increase turnover which results in increased stakes but the very people who oppose it are ON THE GOLD CIRCLE BOARD...which begs the question what exactly is their agenda?CONTINUE TO TREAT PUNTERS LIKE MUSHROOMS BY FEEDING THEM SHIT AND KEEPING THEM IN THE DARK AND lets see where it gets this industry ..brett crawford put my perspective on the issue very well in his interview with the sporting post a few weeks ago..

and just to add one more point 1st timers make up about 10 percent more or less of a race meeting so really there are no excuses

The reason trainers are looking to relocate, either move base or satelite, is because P country is in a bigger mess that GC country.
Then we have to ask ourselves ,with more trainers comes more horses, then why sell off Clairwood.
It will be disastrous to have any additional track in Greyville. Tight for space as it is? We dont need another Lingfiled

Whats wrong with Lingfield? Raced there many times and a very nice course. Sale of Clairwood needed to upgrade Summerveld, totes etc and I am for anything that gets us a polytrack. We would get more ground from the golf course and they have agreed as far as I have been informed. The huge cash injection will really make us the best racing region.

im sure there are other ways to raise capital than to sell your assets...i went to pmb yday for hopefully the very last time and as i have said before comparing it to clairwood is a joke from every aspect..it should be used for lower grade racing like half stakes races midweek as they do for bush racing in australia....i think hell was a better place to be than muckville yesterday

we are the best racing region because of what we have to offer at the moment craig with a variety IN A LEFT HAND TRACK which alongside tfontein outside and kenilworth new is a very fair track and then a right hand track in greyville which is tight and suits a different type of horse...the only racing region which has a left handed and right handed track...when the money that is used to sell clairwood is gone then what next ...sell yr next asset ...another reason for trainers leaving gauteng is would you like to go to the vaal sometimes twice a week to race instead of previously going to newmarket or germiston?

Since GC will be on it's own, we won't have Phum to dictate.

@ Shikar

KZN racing is the best. -That is why we have so many satellite stables and visiting trainers in KZN than any other racing province.

Yes there is.

Charge all satellite stables and visiting trainers nomination fees or deduct 10% of stakes earned. If they not happy they can stay in Phum country. Sick and tired of Phum and their followers.

The divorce is the worst thing that has happened and divided you fall, and are at the mercy of the mighty P. If only you and the WC could have held on for the sake of the future of our racing. Now that you are all alone, only a matter of time that P totally isolates what you have left, and starves you into submission. They will not stop until they got the lot.

I gather the sale figure is over 400 million for Clairwood, I am sure Newmarket was closer to 40 Million with lights.
