Has anyone won a decent amount from them and not had their limit cut to under 500 rand ?
Not looking to cause trouble, just curious, because everyone I know who has won there has been persona non grata.
I would also offer special bets, bonuses etc if i had a webite and had weeded out the winners.

My deposits, if done early morning takes a few hours.... if done closer to race time takes an hour maximum. Like Ruffian I am interested to hear if anyne has won a decent amount and had their limit cut. I use them primarily for L15 e/w's with my lurkers..... to date the most I have won is a few K .... but some of my L15's stand to win in the hundreds of K's ...

Magi - I won 60 k and had my limit cut to 200 rand of a horse. I know of 4 other people who won 30k plus and had limits cut to under 500 rand of a horse. One friend lost about 20k over a few weeks, then won 35 and they cut the limit to 200 rand of a horse.
She asked the online chat support why they cut the limits of everyone who wins. The blokes response was " i don't - the trading office does"
My friend also saved the conversation, but didnt want to post it here.

Ruffian,

I will answer your question as to why your limits have been cut. Please send your number to andrew.harrison@sportingbet.com and I will call you to chat about this issue.

I would very much like to explain, to the rest of the people who read what you said (wrote) above, as to why your limits have been cut, but this would be against company policy. I find it unfair that you give out false reasons as to why your limits have been cut. Hopefully you can also put me in contact with the other 4 people (mysteriously no names to back this up) that suffered the same treatment as you.

Thanks

I had a UK account with Sportingbet, they were great until i won £14000 on a £5 ew lucky 15.My next Lucky 15 they offered me 33 pence ew and i couldnt win more than £40 per transaction..I think they are all the same really.they are accountants not bookmakers.

Ok Harri,

I am a punter who has had their limit cut by your company. This is an extract of a letter that I addressed to the Western Cape Gambling board with regards to your company. To cut a long story short I wanted to understand why I was treated in this manner, but the famous Shezi never had the decency to answer my questions so I went to the gambling board to understand how such totally ludicrous behaviour is tolerated. The gentleman that I dealt with there assured me when I had a meeting with him that he would discuss this with your company if I contructed an email to you and cc'd him in,but in the end I decided not to actually bother after Shezi never had the decency to answer my questions on here.

"Sportingbet.com is one of the sites registered in your jurisdiction who’s conduct is in my opinion wholely unreasonable.I opened an account with them last year sometime, but found their prices to be uncompetitive in comparison to the rest of the market. On the 14th November 2010 I decided to go and have a look at their site again and noticed that they were offering 9/10 about a horse called M ‘Lords Throat in the 2nd race at Kenilworth. This horse was quoted at 7-10 on the bookmakers landline, and Sportingbets price was the best on offer.I therefore deposited R6000 into my account and proceeded to put the whole lot on M’ Lords Throat. This horse had a starting price of 4-10 and won by 6,5L.As a result, when I next went to place a bet at Sportingbet.com I found that my limit had been reduced and that when I wanted to back a 14-1 shot with them my limit was a stake of R35,so that I could win a total of R500 from them.My limit had been reduced after one bet,is that not unreasonable? They were the ones who offered the price."

I would like you to please explain to me how on earth any company can cut a persons betting limit after one bet.

Will send an email and will also try and convince others to follow suit. I also will send you my correspondence with your company where they refused to give me a reason. If you like I can also post all that correspondence on this thread too.

Some of my facts seem to have changed as I wrote to the gambling board quite some time after my original post, but this is the post that I put on here last year:

I have had 1 bet with Sportingbet.I originally opened my account with Great Odds, but their odds were so poor that I withdrew these. When they rebranded to Sportingbet I decided not to have a bet with them as I presumed they would produce more of the same.About 6 weeks back I decided to have a look at their site again when I saw Shezi advertising that they had great prices, and true as Bob they had 9/10 M Lord's Throat when the 'speaker' price was 7/10.It was the best price around so I deposited 6K and put it on.The horse duly arrived and I thought nothing more of it.About 1 week later I wanted to have a few rand on a 40-1.When I tried to place my bet it was rejected with a limit of a stake of R75 ie:3k of this roughie. My limit had been cut to 3K after taking 1 bet with these monkeys.I just laughed.Anyway, about 3 days later I liked another roughie and decided to try again. It was a 14-1 and when I tried to submit my bet it came back rejected with a stake of R40 being my limit.R500 OF A HORSE.You have got to be kidding me.

We can go on and on about this, but I do have to agree with JD that there should be some sort of minimum limit imposed by the gambling boards. For my limit to be cut to R500 from whatever it originally was based on 1 bet is simply ludicrous.

In the limits section it says a punter may not win more than R3 750 000 in one day.I think you should clarify this misprint with the gambling board Shezi,it is obviously supposed to read R750.

I cannot recall 100% what the facts were now,but you can see that I am more or less in the ballpark with my follow up letter that I sent to the gambling board.
