South African Genocide

A family of three, including a 13-year-old boy, has been found shot dead on their smallholding in Walkerville, south of Johannesburg, according to a report on Monday.

Captain Shado Mashobane told Beeld newspaper it was suspected that the boy's mother had been raped before being shot dead.

The boy and his father were shot dead execution style.

The police found their bodies on Sunday after finding the family's car deserted in Orange Grove.

The body of Giraldine Vaina, 46, was found in the main bedroom, while her husband, Tony Vaina, 50, seemed to have been shot dead in the lounge. He was found on his stomach with his hands tied behind his back.

His father was the owner of MSV Tooling in Germiston.

An elderly German man was beaten to death and his ill wife was seriously assaulted during a house robbery in Benoni at the weekend.

Hein Euler, 75, and his wife Erika, 71, were attacked either late on Saturday evening or early on Sunday morning in their home in Morehill Glen, a quiet community protected by a security boom and security guards.

Two men apparently broke into their home and demanded money and weapons.

Euler was beaten to death with a steel pipe. His wife was also seriously assaulted but was in a stable condition on Sunday in Linmed Hospital.

A farmer shot and killed a man trying to rob him of copper cables in Trichardtsdal in the Maake area, Limpopo police said on Sunday.

Five men entered his farm around 13:00 on Saturday and struck him on the head with a panga, lieutenant colonel Mohale Ramatseba said.

He managed to draw his gun and fire several shots at the intruders. A 30-year-old died on the scene after he was shot. His accomplices ran away without taking anything.

The farmer was admitted to hospital with a minor wound. An inquest docket was opened. The four men were still at large.

Sly - How many people were murdered for even less in the townships over the same period? Plenty of horrific instances but this does not make the news. Black on black murder is okay in our media. Murder is unacceptable full stop! Forget race.
