My picks - Buy GOLD and SILVER - If you partake in any horse sale in the near future perhaps you should spend a little extra cash and rename your purchase-
Here are suggestions
-"A fool and his money"
-"Reality Bites"
-"Pritt"
-"I hate money"
-"I hate Myself"
-"Patience"
-"Running for Jam"
-"I never learn"
-"I really hate myself"

BC my last horse died after a good run and all i own now are a few hairs on a mare going to stud - I would rather marry my ex-wife, have all my teeth extracted using a sledge hammer or fall down a fight of stairs backwards before buying another horse - Cheaper to punt - Hell that way I can own any horse for two minutes without the pain! Actually if i did remarry my ex I'd buy plenty of horses just so that I could give them to her in the Divorce settlement!!! Nothing like sharing the pain

The problem is that the 'owning bug' can be as lethal as the 'punting bug' - the only advice I can offer (to myself as well) is to go into it with open eyes, be aware of the realities of owning a race horse in these time, and stick to the trainer(s) you know you can trust. If you are aware of the challenges, but still want to take a chance - the dream is still alive of finding another one like Pierre Jourdan (I know he was not bought at this sale), The Apache, or even Asylum Seeker

Frodo you were blessed to own a horse like asylum seeker but how costly is it following the dream, currently we have about 7000 horses in training and only 3perc will go on to win stakes races, so as the sales progress this year and if we don't retire the battlers the averages worsen.

Agreed, bc, that's why I say 'be aware of the realities' - maybe that should read 'beware the realities' - lol
