why is kzn racing weaker than cpe and gauteng

KZN does not hav the maktoms, joostes ,shirtliffs, adams etc to purchase quality horses both here and abroad .with limited resources we
still produce the winners viz; va de ra (jhb) ,deon visser juvenile double at clairwood , ice diamond in alisted feature beating their much vauted cpe and jhb rivals. if dennis drier had the same quality of horses he would be champion trainer.his track record speaks for itself.

kuben buying power is not the be all and end all of everything...many a champion has been in the care of a natal trainer produced nothing for them changed provinces and come back as champions....dunford left natal as a 1 time winner of about 8 starts went to mike bass and came back and won a race called the durban july,,al nitak left natal as a maiden winner over 2000m and came back to natal and won the gold medallion sprint with lisa prestwood up beating no less than national currency...anyway this whole provincial debate is getting rather boring

putting aside the provincial debate, i am of the opinion that in recent years 80 % of feature races have been won by big stables with big owners viz pocket power, riverjetez ,irish flame, dancers daughter, ebony flyer, igugu, kavannagh to name a few .past master is an exception but he is owned by adams. andrew fortune
remarked on winning ways that only certain trainers can win the july. pirates ,i agree buddy maroun was a genuis at training sprinters and he could run his horses every week and still produce winners. i long for the days unfashionly bred horses with small trainers winning big races .

Might be the weaker centre in the eyes of some, but still attracts the biggest pools over and over and over again.
( thats my observation over the years anyway) .

Questions like these make this debate rather senseless imo - there can never have a winner - I agree with pirates - it's getting rather boring
