Low grade stuff but they all got to run(tu)

Sometimes these low stakes meetings are easier to suss out?

Wings of an Angel looks to have a decent chance...

'Challenging' (to say the least) 'low stakes meeting' at the Vaal today; where the soft going is not going to make it any easier; the juvenile Winter's Song is running in a handicap in race 6; he has run fair races in soft going and shapes up the closest thing to a possible banker imo - also finding betting support.

Other thoughts:

R2: A Kind of Magic has the red-hot Gavin Lerena in the irons, but has not run in the soft yet, so my preference is for Trade Ban who has run some fair races over this trip - the juvenile Tony's Tipple has faded badly over 1200 before, so I prefer the older horses
R3: Very tough (9 of the 14 runners are priced up at 8/1 or shorter); perhaps Nicola's Dream will prefer the softer going and could prove value at big odds - load up
R4: Seems a two horse race between Wings of an Angel and Mastende
R5: Jet Dot Com and Thomond have both run well at this track and are suited to soft conditions; Ponting's Odds (a filly running against colts giving most of them weights) has been put up 5 points in the handicap ans has run poorly in her pinultimate run on soft ground, so not for me today; Mholi likes this trip and could feature together with Alwaysawinner who has dropped quite a few points
R7: Difficult; I fancy a bit of Captain Winter and Kaska, but this is race to go wide imo
R8: 6 yr old mare Trinket is having her 77th start, but is in form, well suited to this trip and has run well in soft conditions; Bullion Fever could prove her biggest danger but is only a one time winner from 35 runs - not sure what to make of Pocket Magic - she won her maiden on the sand, but could easily prove good enough to feature in this field, so include the 15 (scratched stablemate) in the P6 along with the Anthiny coupling

Play well
