First of all, my goal with Ebony Flyer is to win the 2011 Queen's Plate. Everything we do with this filly between now and then will be with the Queen's Plate in mind. This is why we will only run her sparingly the rest of this season and why we skipped the Majorca and will skip the early races in Durban.
Secondly, match races are won by horses with the superior speed. I don't think that Igugu would be advantaged by taking on Ebony Flyer in a match race. Ebony has the superior speed. Do you remember when she broke her maiden over 1000 meters? There was a superior sprinter named Covenant behind her that day.
Look for EF to run once or twice more at 3 and then prepare for the Queen's Plate.

thanks for the update barry,do you think that ef best distance will be a mile or do you think she will see out 2000metres and be as effective?

Pirates, I have little interest at this point in finding out how far Ebony Flyer can run, as she is proven at 7 and 8 furlongs and she can win all of the races that interest me and my partners at a mile.

you got to wonder if his domination of racing is actually good for racing through no fault of his own obviously
