Looking at the fixtures for the next few weeks my plan is to lay Man City after the 19/11/11,when I would expect them to be odds on to win the premiership.
Every winning side( even Man U and Chelsea at their best ) stumbled (normally between mid-Dec and mid-Feb) and will count on City doing the same, and trade out after they drop a few points (I hope.....lol).

I have been steadily building stock in three areas :

Hot Ticket to win the Met. ( A real gamble as he may not even get a run and has plenty of horses to beat. But the beauty of horses as opposed to sport is that 'no hopers' tend to pop up more regularly than, for example, Sunderland suddenly improving out of sight to win the Premier League ).

Chelsea to win the Premier League. I like the way in which they are grinding out wins at present and improving goal scoring is often a lot easier than fixing a creaky defence.

Chiefs to win Super 15. I can't resist revisiting the well at which I won plenty last year.

Mix and match your own chosen combinations and you will be looking at massive odds !

This thread reminds me of the story of the 2 Irishmen, Mick and Paddy, who go on holiday to Rome and try to get an audience with the Pope but are unsuccessful. Unpeturbed they sneak into the Pope's private rooms and discover that the Pope had died the same afternoon. When discovered they are told to tell no one as the announcement would only be made in a week's time once arrangements are made.

The next day they return home and each make their way to separate Paddy Power betting shops to have a bet on the Pope dying in the next 7 days.

Two weeks later Mick meets Paddy and tells him how much money he won but Paddy is very glum. "What's wrong" asks Mick. "Didn't you have a bet".

"Yes" says Paddy " but I lost as I took a double with the Archbishop of Canterbury."
