It absolutely bucketed down in Durban North, yet here at the office in Sea Cow Lake it appears that there has hardly been a drop. I don't know about Greyville, but with a bit of luck the deluge I got at home passed it by.

Speed Ratings for mdn races attached (hopefully)

Race 1 : The consistent Zie Zie Gabor can be involved again at a reasonable price. Once again ‘unproven’ sand performers head the market, albeit from ‘proven’ yards. Giaconda ran her best race here when taking advantage of a favourable draw and can feature again whilst Pink Orchid,
from the same form line, can fill the back end of the quartet. Reminisce is difficult to assess and is passed by due to erratic figures and an unfavourable draw.

Race 2 : Siber Centenary looks a ‘value’ PA banker. Black Aces certainly ran well lto, and whilst it appears a 3 horse race (with the unknown sand form of Mojarad) the odds for the favourite are cramped.

Race 8 : Memghar with good figures and a 20/1 tag makes a lot of appeal even though the stable jock rides the ‘more fancied yet unproven’ 12. Again, a ‘unproven on sand performer’ heads the market. For me the 3 is a PA banker.

RACE 1 - 1200m DRAWN LTO
4 ZIE ZIE GABOR 10 81 76 78 78 67
3 GIACONDA 5 80
11 REMINISCE 9 43 73
2 PINK ORCHID 4 72
1 LITTLE CATALOOCHEE 11 64 65

RACE 2 - 1600m
1 SIBER CENTENARY 82 81 41 82 63 82
11 BLACK ACES 82 57
14 SLIPPERY SLOPE 76 53
2 ROBBEN ISLAND 57 72 62 62 64
6 OBI WAN 64 45
8 BAFFIN BAY 56

RACE 8 - 1000m
3 MEMGHAR 81 84 69
7 SIZZLING GUY 78 42 82
6 NATIONAL FLEET 71 79 81
2 THE WESTWERN 76 75 58 59 56

Good morning gents; I find it not so easy on the Vaal sand today, not made any easier by the fact that the training tracks have been very wet, so who knows which horses got the work they needed; at least it seems to be drying out, so many yards should now get back to 'normal'; some longer priced horses to consider:

R3: Nazran showing improved form - should have place prospects at the weights
R4: Indian Firecracker is racing fit, well handicapped and JP rides from a 1 draw - best each way value on the card for me
R5: Blingle Bells at big odds has as good a chance as any of the others on their last runs - Adorable is fit, but has not run well in her only try on the sand
R6: Tough race - Tutenkhamen each way value for me
R7: Hurricane Force each way
R8: Memghar may prefer the 1000 and has each way claims imo

Consider including the ones mentioned above with some of the popular ones on the day (e.g Son of the Burg, Leprechorn's Gift, Mannequin, Renegade and Winning Wild)

Best bet imo should be Black Aces in race 2 - slight concerns abt the jock though

Play well
